I would guess that a Transit wagon with glass windows would be quieter off the lot because the wagon likely has more sound deadening because it is designed for passengers. A wagon with glass windows would certainly be quieter than an empty steel cargo van. However if the steel cargo van has been fitted with insulation, a sound deadening floor, and interior panels it might actually be quieter than the glass window version. I insulated mine and covered the sides and ceiling with carpet on 5mm luan plywood and it is very quiet.
