There are Ford incentives and Dealer incentives. The best Ford incentive is zero pct financing. If you're get that, don't expect too much more. If you don't get that, then grind the dealer for everything you can. I will typically do 2 things, try for zero financing and refuse to give them a down payment. They will dig deep to come up with incentives to satisfy the down payment if they know you're serious. Once they give you that number, throw them a down payment that you're comfortable with. I've bought my last 3 Fords with that strategy and I'm happy with the results.

I just looked at a 2016 and called the dealer. What I did: 1)Asked them what the incentives/rebates are. 2) Asked them what "invoice price" is (price they paid). 3) Then take the invoice price and subtract the rebates, plus tax/license. I think that's the best they can do but does anyone know if they can dig deeper on the pricing?

Here's the breakdown of what the dealer quoted me today:

MSRP: 46,035
Savings: -2632 (dealer taking the price down to invoice)
Less Rebates: -4500
=Sale Price: 38,903

Add tax: 3804
Gov't/Reg Fees: 383
Documentation/CVR Charge: 109

TOTAL PRICE: 43199

Does anyone think I can ask for $40K OUT THE DOOR? And get it? It's a model year 2016...

That's about the same deal I'm getting, about 15% off sticker.

Make the internet managers from several dealers bid for your business, cast a wide net
Problem is, this is the only one I've found in California... 130 RWB MR 3.5EB 3.31LS WAGON. My local dealer will trade a van to get it delivered here and he will work with my credit union. Seems like a good deal, just more money than I had planned on spending. It's got leather, sync, etc....

You need to pm Crewvanman give him your zip code and what your looking for and see if he can search the inventory for you.

In my mind that's a lot of money for a '16. But then again I'm cheap skate.

A $46K MSRP window sticker is a pretty loaded 130" WB wagon. Is this the price on the Ford window sticker or is there a add-on sticker by the dealership? Are there any options on the window sticker that you could go without? You might send me the VIN here or by PM and tell me what options you could do without and any items you want definitely.

Be sure to send me your zip code to key into the closest Transit wagon to you.

I agree it's too much money. All we want really is the 130 RWB MR Wagon with the 3.5 and LS. We can deal without all the extra fluff. Found some good options at dealerships in Utah, thanks to CrewVanMan!

If you can handle the RACE RED exterior color and can do without the limited slip (or at this price, I think you could add it later)....$33735!!!
It is a 2016 T-150 MR Wagon with XL trim (pewter vinyl) 3.5L, 3.31 Regular axle, Lane Keeping Alert, Reverse Park Aid, SYNC 3 with Navigation, Cruise Control, HD Alternator, Alloy Wheels with 10 passenger seating. You would have to make a trip to Indiana to get it.

Looking at the window sticker on this one.....it was a SPECIAL ORDER unit, billed to the dealer on 9/22/2015, built 10/1/2015 so I am sure after over a YEAR in inventory, they are ready to MOVE IT!!!!

Ed, can dealerships come down lower on price below invoice price, after the Ford Corp. rebates are applied? Most dealers seem happy to sell at invoice price, I'm just wondering if we can get a better deal.

Belloinsella, attached are the numbers I paid for my wagon. I had to shop around quite a bit and was able to find one 8 hours from me. They were a bigger dealership and willing to work on pricing with me. I did have to give up a few things I really wanted but this wagon had 80% of the options I was looking for and the price was right. Good luck.

Most dealership sell at what the market price on that particular vehicle will bring in the area. They have found that some models with special optional equipment bring more money than just the basic Transit. It comes to what you want and how much you are willing to pay for it. That is why you should use the Ford Transit Order Guide and come up with the EXACT options you want and key in on that type of Transit. In some cases, you will find models with more options than what you are looking for, then make the decision if you want to pay more for those options or go with less options, less cost.

Waiting further in the model year adds more rebates from Ford and sometimes more dealer incentives as they try to get more inventory off their lot. You can look at Matt Ford's site and see a example of what vehicles they want to move the most just by their pricing on the 2016 models. One thing you may lose out on is the availability of finding that 2016 model that has EXACTLY what you want. If you are looking at keeping the Transit long term, get at least the options you want for sure. Then you will never regret that you passed on it later on when you are using the Transit and wish you might have had the SYNC 3 Navigation or the 10 way power seats when the wife decides she wants to drive the it and can't get a good seating position going down the road.

With incentives, you should be able to get an out the door price of 20% off MSRP. Ask if there are any upcoming factory incentives, or look online. I had a bunch of them stacked, including factory, dealer, and labor day. MSRP $33 out the door for less than $26.

I had a similar deal as Lincoln Lighting around $10K off Ford sticker out the door on a 2016 found on lot. It had a sale price on the window of $34,500 down from $39,365 sticker and I did trade an old 2001 E150 so with a little bit of coaxing out the door of $29,300. Had to pull the trigger as Quigley bill still coming up.

I think I located the Transit Wagon you were talking about at Tracy Ford in Tracy, CA. as the window sticker MSRP is $46035. Ingot Silver with pewter leather seating in 10 passenger configuration. Lots of special options that may be desired. The combination of the 130" MR wagon with 3.5L engine, color other than white, and the 10 passenger seating makes it the only one showing up in a 500 mile radius of your Santa Cruz location. Next area is where I sent you before in UT. This makes it more difficult to get better pricing as you do not have much of a selection of vehicles to compete with this one on optional equipment.

I found it well worth it to buy outside of California and drive back. Saved thousands over what any CA dealer would sell for, which more than paid for the $150 plane ticket and week's worth of excellent camping coming home.

If you can afford the time off, look into buying in another State and driving it home. Wheels-up delivery would cost $1000-1500 minimum.
