Had read on some other threads about the foam with plastic bags, that were ripped and full of water. Well I checked mine and one is ripped and full of water. Wondering if Ford will fix and replace under warranty. Looks like they ripped the bag when they were jamming it in the space :(.

I doubt if anyone in a dealer service department is going to take that bag-foam thing seriously. And, I'd bet that most anyone putting one in will rip it, in doing so. And, how will you know, without taking it out?

Geez, I just looked at the one I removed from my driver side fender slot. It's nearly 4 x 4 inches! I had been thinking I might replace it with minicel foam, and no bag. But, I'm pretty sure a same-size column of minicel can not be compressed enough to get it in, and, a smaller column might not be secure, or "perform" as intended (which is still open to speculation; sound deadening?).

whenI took my van in for the water issue they put in a tray on the driver side that pushes against it diverting the water into it and yes mine is torn
seem kinda stupid to divert the water right into the side of it
Im taking them out

I have to admit I am really wondering why there are there!

Oh, 032718 build date. Gotta love the water spots on the top of the air filter box. Time for a TURD introvention. :)
