Hi. After thirty years of Hondas (civic, Acura EL (pseudo-Civic), and Odyssey), I am ordering a Ford Transit Wagon, 10 seater. My Odyssey is a bit cramped for our four children and two dogs (and sometimes two rabbits, sigh). I have a post (somewhere?) asking for feedback - hopefully I will be ordering what I should. Thank you for any suggestions! I have already found the posts here very helpful and I look forward to following many of the threads here.

Thank you!

Hopeful taking delivery tomorrow. It arrived at my dealer's late Friday and should be ready tomorrow (today was a holiday here). It looks great! My older daughter and I took it for a quick spin on Saturday and really like it.

Awesome. Congrats on the new wagon. We still have a month or more to wait for ours.

pgpalmer,

Congratulations and happy motoring!

Going to ask a favor of you, since you are in Canada. Can you take a picture of the headlight dial, to the left of the steering wheel, that shows the different settings for the lights? I'm trying to figure out if there is any difference (yours having daytime running lights) and ours here in the U.S. not.

Thanks in advance.

I totally forgot you wanted this on a different thread USMC Vet but was away from my van for 3 months.

Haulin' Gas Adventures,

Thanks for the photo, it's a different control knob also, not just the wiring. Here's a picture of mine. I'll get it figured out someday :D

I absolutely love the wagon! Lots of room! I can stand up in it (I am 5' 5"). The power seats are extremely comfortable, and the view is great. I posted some pictures in the 'delivery of custom transit' thread and will attach a few here. I had a few concerns before I ordered it - wasn't sure if there would be enough cargo room with the 10 person seating, and wondered if I should have ordered a 148" wheelbase model. I am extremely happy with my choice, and glad that I didn't go bigger. It will be my daily driver, and it fits (barely) in standard-length parking spots. If it was any longer, my choice of spots would be much less (in areas I frequently park in). The medium roof is so high I can't really imagine what the high roof would be like.
There is more cargo room behind the last row of seats than there was in my Odyssey. If I have anything big and bulky, it can go in the large area beside the sliding door.
Seating is a bit tight, but my people are still pretty small. I can sit in all of the seats comfortably. My 6'3" husband is more limited, but there are still lots of options for seating, including lots of aisle seats. I was going to take out a couple of seats to provide more legroom, but it is fine for us. I am going to leave all the seats so they are there and available if needed as I don't feel that it is necessary to adjust the seating positions. If I had all 6 foot plus teenagers I would take out a couple of seats (probably then I would take out the back row and move the third-row 2 person seat to the back. I would go from 10 seats to 7, but almost all would have amazing legroom.
The door is heavy, and my kids are barely able to close it alone (but are able to - youngest two are 8-9 year-old sized). Also, we have the step and it is fine for the sliding door, but front doors could really use steps too. I can manage, but it is a big step up to the cab. My similarly-sized 12 year old son with some special needs is having trouble stepping up to the front passenger seating position, and more trouble stepping down as he doesn't want to back down. We will probably end up adding a step at some point.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and feedback.

How does one get the power passenger seat. I thought it was only driver seat??

Maybe it is different for wagons?

I see code '21H PWTR LTH SD AB' on the invoice. Not sure if that makes the seat power or not. And the '302A' preferred equipment package.

Looks like power passenger seat is only on the leather option. The cloth descriptions all say manual passenger seat. Here's the full description of 21H:

Pewter (grey) Leather 10-way power driver and front-passenger seats with driver-side and front-passenger-side front airbags and inboard armrests. Includes Safety Canopy® side-curtain airbags.
*Only available on RWB for Wagon (K1Y, K1Z, K1C). Not available on 3.2L LWB 9,250lb Van. Rear passenger seat rows also leather.

21H is an option for all models EXCEPT Wagon XL - have to go XLT to get it.

Ford99 - The power driver seat only comes with the leather option, and the leather isn't available as seating option above the 10 seater (we tried)

PGPalmer: Thanks for sharing the pictures. We ordered a very similar vehicle except with the low roof. We were a little concerned about the storage too, but it seems like a little more than our 2012 Sienna, which is fine. We were going to order a 12 passenger except we couldn't get leather, so now I'm glad it worked out that way. That would be a very long vehicle for my wife's daily driver.

We ordered about 2 weeks ago, so hopefully we will get more info soon. Thankfully, I noticed that the dealership forgot to put the 10-passenger order code on our order form, otherwise we would have been very disappointed when we picked it up!

The fourth "A" setting on the headlamp knob is for auto-lamps. You get it when you order the auto-lamps / rain-sensing-wipers option.

Don't know how DRLs are done, but my '98 S10 (with automatic headlights) and '15 NV200 (manual headlights) just have them come on automatically whenever the engine is running and headlights are turned off. (If the parking brake is applied when I start the S10 nothing comes on until I release the parking brake. Reapplying the parking brake does NOT turn them off though. Haven't checked the NV200 to see if it does the same.)

I think that you will find it very roomy. My previous vehicle was a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The footprint isn't much different (I think the Transit 150 with the 130" WB is about 2 feet longer) but the space is WAY bigger. Having the back come straight up and having the higher ceiling makes a huge difference. The seats are a bit smaller than the Honda's and I think that adds to the cargo room.
