When I worked for Chevrolet, a color not offered on a particular vehicle model could be ordered as long as it was offered on another model and 6 of them were ordered. For instance, yellow was not offered on the Camaro, but it was on Corvette. So it could be gotten on the Camaro so long as 6 were ordered.
Later I believe the number changed to 3.

Does anyone know if Ford does the same thing? I was wanting Pueblo Gold which was discontinued on the Transit and was thinking of trying to round up others who wanted a Transit in the same color.

In most cases, you would have to have a fleet order with the color code to get a different color from what is offered as a regular Transit color. Talked to a dealer about ordering a Transit in Blue Flame Metallic, which is a current F-150 color used at the Kansas City plant.

Ford color code for Pueblo Gold is G3. After it is no longer used by Ford as a current code, it may be used as G3/M7113.
Ford code for the Blue Flame is SZ. You might talk to your Ford dealer and see what they say about ordering the color.

Keep us informed on your request. The Blue Flame Metallic is a great color I would love to have a Transit in that color.

Anyone interested in ordering a Transit van in exterior color BLUE FLAME? This is currently a F-150 standard color but would be a special order color for the Transit. It can be ordered if the dealer orders up to 5 vehicles in the same order group similar to a fleet order.

I would be interested in a 2017 but do they all have to be ordered from the same dealership? I would only order through my local dealership, that a personal friend works for.

Would have to be ordered by the same dealer but it could be redirected to your friends dealership for delivery.
I will have to pass. I don't want to wait that long for a special color, the more I think about it. It already looks like a I won't see one until fall. Good luck in your search. Maybe you can convenience a big local business the need a fleet of Transits. :)

The best thing I did was order a unique color, for my current van. Everyone knows me as the painter with the big blue van, not white like every other contractor in the area.
