Well I finally did it, ordered a new Transit HR, Long, 3.5 EB, 3.31 LS, and pretty much all options except for the pop out side window. Went with the Metallic Grey paint, we will see how long it takes for ford to build it and ship it to SoCal. I really appreciate all the advice I got on the length question, surprisingly I went with the long instead of the extended length, decided to keep my f-250 as well so my work options weren't limited solely on the transit.

I plan on turning it into a rolling work station/adventurer rolling earth ship. I would like to finish out the interior like a 1940's woody wagon, at least with the ceiling.

Well, I finally picked up my new Transit last week! What a great vehicle! Can't believe how much I like it thus far, super fast launches with the EB, comfortable and quiet! Planning my new camper/utility build, will wait a couple of months before I start, really thinking about doing a 4x4 conversion and adding a roof rack with lights, well see.

I think I've been spending too much time browsing the F150 forums (looking for info on the EcoBoost engines)...

A lot of those guys seem to live at the drag strip, so now I read people here comment on the "fast launches" with the EB - and wonder who will be the first to take a Transit to the track?!

The Transit with EB does 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds, back in the 1980's a Mustang GT did that time in about 8.5 seconds. I had a 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo that was a super car in terms of speed during that time, it clocked 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Never thought I would own a van that was almost as fast, lol!

I just ordered my Transit with the ecoboost about a week ago. I plan to do a comparison with my current E350 Clubwagon. I'll post the results after I do the test.

Congrats smacdeisel ! Post up some more pictures. I ordered my van on about the same day as you and it's also magnetic color. Unfortunately mine is going to an upfitter first .
