I test drove an XLT 130 LR a week ago and it confirmed my decision to buy one. I will order an XLT 148 LR 12-passenger this week, but I've got a few questions. I'm not a DIY fixer-upper guy, I'm not an RV'er, not a contractor. This van will be primarily a family van / commuter, and an occasional stealth camper - though I'm a minimalist and don't want to bother with RV electrical systems that I'll never understand. That said, what might your opinions be on these options:

Upfitter switches? What would I have these control? Fog lights? What else?

Vinyl flooring? I've got Weathertech mats in my F150 now and they're great. I was planning to go buy some rubber carpet/mat and use that for flooring in the Transit. Is the Vinyl flooring from Ford good enough to call it a day?

Do I want a power inverter? I'll occasionally have kids in the back with iPads, etc. What else would I use this for?

If I want the 10 way power seats, I have to get cloth it seems (read here somewhere that leather wasn't available with the 148, I think). Not sure what I think about the cloth seats vs vinyl vs leather vs aftermarket seatcovers...

Do I want the flip-open windows or not? Hard to find pics of them.

Do I want the heavy duty alternator? How about the dual battery? I don't see me plugging anything of significance into the van, but is this (and the heavy duty alternator) a "better to get it now than to have to install one later" decision?

I assume that the engine block heater would be a good idea in Wisconsin winters, though I never needed this on my 2012 F150...Good idea anyway?

Thanks for your opinions,

Not many pics of the flip-out windows available, but I included two that I have. That may help.
In a couple of weeks my van will be delivered (I hope). I'll make some detailed images then.

We have a 12 passenger long as my everyday vehicle.

The vinyl flooring is AWESOME. I can very quickly sweep or vacuum then run a stiffer over it or, for bigger messes, clean the floor with a rag and scrub brush.

The power driver seat is a must in my opinion. It's so much more comfortable than the passenger seat. I'm pretty sure leather is not available for wagons and when it was it was only the front two seats anyway.

The power inverte is a personal choice but know that you'll have two USB charging/connection ports up front, two 12v plugs up front, and one 12v plug further back (I want to say it's by the window in the 3rd row but it might be the 4th. We've had them loaded up with iPhones and iPads without a problem.

Does anyone have the vinyl seats in the back of a wagon? Do they have any armrests? Does the front passenger have an armrest? I want vinyl so the kids won't deatroy the seats but I want some comfort up front and the vinyl doesnt have lumbar.
