I have an opportunity to obtain heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators.
I have power ones non heated with no turn signal.
they would be an advantage up here in NE with the weather
My question is will they be a basic plug and play? or do I also need
a new control switch on the driver door - or are the switches the same?
also has anyone had any experience in doing so.

Don't know, but the mirror heat is activated by the rear defroster switch. You have that?

Did you try the swap? If you did how did it come out? I know last post was in Feb 2015 but hopefully OP will see this or someone else may have input

There are a few mirror threads in here, you should be able to find one with the answers you need. I added the signals to mine and it was relatively easy.

I swapped mine and they're plug and play. I had the short arm power, no turn signal and no heat. Swapped for the same but with the signal and heat. I do not have the defrost button, but the harnesses matched perfectly.

I actually got them from a friend with a wrecked van. Unfortunately I do not know what new mirrors cost but there are threads on the forum about how to add the turn signal lights.
