For interior finish for a low roof general use van (work, gardening, hauling stuff, camping and travel):
Instead of rigid paneling, what about fully adhered marine hull liner over Kflex, conforming to the contours of the van structure,

Quiet, easy to find holes for mounting stuff & wiring, easy to patch, good insulation, cushioning against small dings, comfortable. Drawback - uses much adhesive for the installation, so potential short-term outgas issue.
So we don't get sidetracked on 70's shag vans ;o)
