@tom - I was surprised how small it was when I found it as well. My negative bus bar is pretty close though (about 1ft) on the passenger side - think it would be alright if I add a washer?

Just make a cable with proper crimped ends to go from the battery terminal to your buss bar.

Don't add a washer.

Gotcha..thanks! So what are your thoughts on the negative buss bar from my DC circuit? Can I just tie that into van metal (or should I run to ground at parking break)? Also, do I need the wire from DC ground buss to van battery (the 4 AWG on my diagram)?

Great diagram (for me).

Most of these assume the reader is already knowledgeable.
the build!)

Please tell me.... If I have a lot of 2 AWG wire can I use it where you indicate 4 AWG and not do any harm?

Thanks.

You can always use thicker wire safely. Downsides are higher cost and more difficulty working with it than using the indicated wire gauge.

You don't want to do the reverse - don't use 4 AWG if 2 AWG is called for.
