Has anyone installed a LPG Tank that is used in VW Wanagon to the Transit? I heard that it could be a good candidate for the under chassis Propex heater.

I installed the newest eurovan model tank that is available from GoWesty. It has a higher capacity than a Vanagon's. Even so, the tank does not extend below the frame rails, so there is no loss of clearance or much in the way of tank exposure. Pretty much have to drop to the ground to even see the tank, but still easy access to fill.
"RV Propane Systems" published by the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) is very informative and will answer your questions about proper installation methods, including ground clearance. I found the RVIA books on other topics useful as well.

That is great! Is there anything special in terms of fitting it to the chassis, i.e., original brackets can be used or need to have special brackets to install? Do you have any pictures of the tank in the Transit? Thanks.

I don't know what tank is used in a westy/vanagon, but we did install a 30# manchester tank for our conversion.

I am hoping for a simple installation with available brackets from westy tank kit and no mod or minimal mod that I can do it myself while being stealth.
Realize this an old post but do you have any photos of your install of the westy lp tank in your transit?
