I know some will get a kick out of Fords response
Well, checked back with dealer today, they had received the information back from Ford, after sending in all the fault codes and wiring readings etc that were generated on Tuesday by the tech.
The tech was correct, the problem is the failure of the Instrument cluster module, BUT , here is where it gets funny.
Ford will not authorize the dealership to replace the faulty module, unless they (the dealership) puts their computer on the vehicle during an intermittent failure, captures the codes displayed during the failure and sends them back to Ford for review and authorization.
The service manager delivered this information with a knowing look as to what my response would be and he agreed with me.
Since they usually don't make field calls with computer equipment

, he was at a loss on how to do this. He expressed his dissatisfaction with how Ford was putting me in a situation where I might be stranded, and have no way to get assistance.
He advised as most of you will agree, to call customer service to have Fords decision over ruled, so they can get permission to install the module.
Don't you just love it
