I have a 2020 Transit 1500 with single battery and a single "always on" ccp post. I want to install a charger for my Yeti 1500x in the area behind the driver's seat. I have investigated converting the ccp power to "engine on" only but it seemed to involve accessing some small pins inside the battery compartment to operate a switch that would prevent draining the starter battery with the engine off. I could do that but it seems complicated and a bit of a hassle.

What I would like to do is locate auxiliary power point wiring. My manual says I have 3 12v 20a cigarette- lighter style power points. My dash has only 2 and the third is typically in the cargo area on the rear passenger post. I have a cut-out for the power point but when I looked in the access panel there was no connector there. I have seen a guy who was able to find and connect to a wire there. If I can find that wire I would have a 20 amp source of "engine on only" power that I could then run back to the area I want to locate my Yeti power box. I checked my fuse box and fuse 63 is plugged in and is supposed to control the 3rd auxiliary power point.

Is there any information from Ford that would show where the missing wiring might be? Or does anyone out there know how to find it?

On most of my trucks and motorcycles I use the cig lighter wire to actuate a 30A relay for aux switched power if I can't find an existing empty slot in the fuse box. The reason for using the cig lighter wire is that it is usually somewhat convenient and already in the cab, plus there are no serious downsides if that wire fails.

The relay can go under the hood and power into that relay is from a breaker near the battery. I use 10 ga wire in and out of the relay. The relay powers a breaker panel that can go in a more convenient spot such as a cabinet. I do the same with a house battery, just adding whatever circuits (B2B, solar, etc) are going to charge the battery or connect it to the engine battery. This gives 360W to the new breaker panel which is enough for the usual collection of lights, chargers, etc.

The biggest hassle is usually getting the 10 ga wire through the firewall with one of the existing bundles. (Usually there's one left and one right) I tape a string to a plastic rod with a smooth rounded tip and then use the string to pull the wire through.

Inverters, big lights, and other high load devices go on their own circuit with their own protective breaker or fuse. When there are more than two of those I'll add a buss bar to minimize things hanging off the battery.

Hello, i too am looking for wiring up an additional power point to very back area of van. I have my first Transit few months ago, its a 350 xlt passenger van (i removed and selling a seat).
I have to remove the panel back there but not sure if wiring is there (before removing) ??? and i saw that you found wiring and was looking in wrong panel.
On my driver side back there is the rear AC fan so was yours found on passenger side ? And was it a matter of just plugging power point in ??? This is my first Transit any direction from all would be appreciated.

My 2021 Cargo has a "cigarette' type plug next to the rear passenger side cargo door. Facing inward on the main squarish post the door hinges on. My Bluetti is charged while driving with the 12v charger plugged in there. The Bluetti fits perfectly between the post and wheelwell

An XLT passenger van should have that 3rd power point next to the seat by the sliding door, the feed for it comes from a wire harness plug near the rear door pillar on that side. On my first Transit I used power from that wire to add power next to the door.
