Started a new thread here with each list split into separate posts since a single post with all the lists would exceed the 50,000 per post character limit.

We got new forum software about two years ago, The new software makes the forum harder to search.
Three years ago the free photo sharing app called Photobucket became a paid service, And this caused many photo's on this forum to disappear.
You missed a some of the more elaborate build threads, indygreg and skagastan, to name a few.

I have been here for five years and I do not have a build thread, The same is true for many other people.
Some here have even questioned if I even own a Transit, As to proof the best I can do is a photo someone else took.

I actually tried to look for build threads from many of the big posters. In fact, I did look for yours.

The more posts a user make, the harder it can be to find his build thread though since most of those threads are older and they don't show up in the user's "Discussions" anymore.

Nice work!

Disappointed to see there are no HR mid-length Wagon's on the list.

One I didn't see on the list:

Great work Danner! What you have done is very useful. To make it even more useful, I suggest editing the title of the thread (if possible) to make it more responsive to people searching for this information. Something like: Camper Conversion Pictures Showing Different Layout Options

I'm so busy doing the build that I haven't added to it recently, but I did start a thread (in General, should have been in camper/conversions). I'll add to it from time to time. Hopefully I can finish with the battery compartment/bedframe, then get the floor in, then install the zero gravity adjustable electric bed, and turn my attention to trying to fit 34 gallons of tanks underneath without being able to see them from outside (25 trionic fresh tank, 7 grey, and 7 what I'm calling "yellow-only"). After that it's back sourcing 20kWh of LFP, and installing the VL60, sink, counter, etc. Meanwhile I'm still trying to determine if I can get a 42SEER 240V Carrier ductless minisplit to fit below the van, or if I'll have to source a custom unit, but it's looking like back door or bust on the Carrier. I may just go ahead with it and relent on keeping the outside of the van looking completely unmodified. Too bad, since I really want to avoid attracting thieves and I have family in LA and SF I'd like to visit where stealth camping would be a nice option.

Cheers.

Ortons build.
One of the best finds for me was Ortons so cords.
So cords were a big time game changer for me.

Hein had a cool air filter on his heater intake

Sport Coupe had the internet router which is sweet

Somebody had a mini split air conditioner with the
condenser mounted under the van .

Saw a Spanish guy from Florida chop a window AC in half and
convert it to a mini split with condenser under the van , that was in a Sprinter but
worth mentioning considering how cool it was.

... had a mini split air conditioner with theo condenser mounted under the van .
I thought about dissecting a window unit but they're not efficient enough. It's easy to get an a/c under there, but hard to get a really efficient unit lIke the Carrier because the outside condenser unit is so large, and it needs space on either side to work properly. I also wouldn't install it with the fan facing front to rear due to high speed driving and associated wind speed potentially destroying the fan bearings. Rocks and dust are also a real concern, so being directly behind a wheel (front left or right) or too close to the back is a concern.

I found a few locations that could work but I'd have to give up other things.

Cheers.

I updated the list with a third table of 60+ builds from pro builders that have pages. Some pages are more detailed than others with a few even having a video tour.

I would do a list of pages from Instagram or Pinterest. I've found there are some interesting builds there, but usually the pages are mixed in with tons of photos of the owner's dog or fancy meals or something else much less interesting

I rarely do things half way. Made a bunch of additions to the list.
  • Combined each of the individual tables into one big table with sections.
  • Added a section with dedicated build sites at the top (like farOutRide.com, Orton's etc.).
  • Added a section of video tours of various transit builds at the bottom
  • Added two columns indicating how many people the camper sleeps and seats. This was entirely manually done by looking at the interior pics of each van to see how many seats and beds there were. (So likely to have mistakes).
  • Made a few fixes (but also probably a few mistakes)
Too bad there aren't many campers that sleep 4 and how many HR Extended campers only sleep 2. This just makes me think my plan of putting together a MR 148" that seats and sleeps 4 with room for a bike garage is probably insane. Maybe I can still pull it off with a few sacrifices

Great resource and agreed. I have to sleep and seat 6 in my van.
Hard to find any ideas.
I'm rebuilding the main bed for the 3rd time now, ha

Keep up the effort! And please lobby to get it stickied at the top!

And could I suggest grouping the builds by Cargo and Wagon? They tend to take significantly different approaches due to windows, airbags, and existing seating.

Another build found (as I clean up my bookmarks); MR Passenger Van 130WB:

I've been browsing the forums for a couple months now looking for pics to with ideas on how I'd lay out a Transit (if I were to get one) to build a camper for my family of four. Although there are plenty of pics on the site, they're really scattered about. Oddly, many of the best pics for completed camper van builds are actually in the "Ford Transit Vehicles For Sale" forum, not in "Camper Vans and Conversions". Pics of camper vans in the "Ford Transit Pictures And Videos" forum, where you'd expect to find this stuff, is pretty bare.

So with excitement at the prospects of building a Transit camper, I've scoured the forums for this info. Below is a table I've put together with threads containing pics of Transit camper conversions.

I'm sure there's a lot missing here (and probably a few mistakes), but this was an entirely manual process. If you've got more build with pics, please PM me and I'll add them to the tables.
