says they are sold out till 2016 - $530

These are Winston Brand batteries

Thanks for posting.

Plus/minus $500 per kW-hr is starting to look affordable. Still higher than AGM batteries but when adjusted for higher working discharge capacity and greater number of cycles, the cost isn't that much higher.

I'm not sure what lack of internal electronics really means as it affects use. I need to do a little research in that area.

the main drawback to these batteries is when Balancing cells-
there is no Balancing ports for Each cell in the battery -

so balancing the first few times is more hassle than if it had cell balancing ports and Takes longer -

but once cells are balanced LiFe battery packs may need balancing as little as once per year -

need for balancing will depend on how you use the battery -

As a side note I have a Sony Lithium-Ion battery purchased for a video camera in 2000 --
$250 for the battery -
It was used 4 plus hours daily for 5 years - then a few times a month for 10 years -

New the battery would supply 640 minutes of recording - Now 15 years later it will still supply 490 minutes of recording -
Only thing I did special in taking care of the battery was to never run it completely flat -
and Alway used a Real Sony charger -
