On my way to the track today I decided I'm going to look into leasing my Transit. It's the first time I've ever considered leasing and I'm only doing it because there's too many unknowns on the diesel mpg. I don't want to get stuck with a lemon and figure I could hedge my risk.
Has anyone leased a van before? Todd

There are some really good lease deals out there, especially on pickups, but I've never seen a good deal on a commercial van. Take the Sprinter for example. I see 3 year old Sprinters go on ebay for only $10K off new. Round up and call it $300/month depreciation. Add a generous $150/month for interest on the money. I don't think you can lease a Sprinter anywhere near $450/month. More like $600 - $800 I think.
I was hoping Ram would offer a good lease deal on the Promaster to help gain market share but that didn't happen. I don't expect Ford to be optimistic about lease end values either. Even rental car companies buy their vehicles.
