Key fob not working

I took my 2015 Transit 250 to Discount Tire to have my winter tires rotated. When I went to pick up Van I noticed the FOB would not unlock the doors. I opened the door using the actual key and drove home. I thought maybe the battery needs replacing but my second key fob won't work either. Any suggestions what might be wrong?

Not sure what the dufusses did, but, you probably need to go through the reprogramming procedure. Instructions exist on at least 2 threads on this forum. Search "keypad", which always requires programming, when added (and, that programming also includes reprogramming the key fobs).
A little more info.... Today I unlocked the door with the key (NOT FOB). I touched the unlock button on inside of door and it would not unlock the passenger door or back doors or sliding door. I was pissed because I needed to access my tools in the back of the van. I have a solid bulk head separating the cargo area from the front two seats so basically I cannot get to the cargo area. I decided to start the van and at that point the buttons on the interior of doors now work. The key fob still does nothing!
Is it possible that a fuse might have blown?
Is it possible that a fuse might have blown?
I don't think so because the buttons on interior of door to lock/unlock doors work once the van is started. I will check fuses but doesn't make sense.
So, problem is not the fobs. Sounds like maybe something something circuit out of sync, or needs to be reset. Might be worth fuse pull or battery disconnect.

At 6 or 7 thousand miles, mine got maybe similarly out of sync. It had something to do with pressing a lock button, then exiting through a cargo door - or something; I could never work it out.

In my case, pressing the fob LOCK button left the door unlocked, which I discovered by chance. The next few times I used the locks in my errand running, they were wrong. Next day, locks were back to normal.
you probably need to go through the reprogramming procedure.
Have you tried reprogramming the fobs yet? It's possible that something they did just caused it to clear the stored fobs.

If a new fob or keypad is programmed, the system will forget the other devices unless they are part of the sequence.
Cannot imagine what they could have done rotating tires to cause this, unless they were trying to reprogram the TPMS and messed something up, but-

In the service manual it mentions resynchronizing RKE transmitters-
Stand close to the vehicle and press any key on non-functioning RKE fob 3 times in 30 seconds.
It is possible that when getting to the TPMS reprogram mode that they inadvertently got to the key fob mode and accidentally erased the keys without knowing it.
I have almost the same problem as the OP. My van showed a TPMS fault while I was out on the road. I checked the tires but they were fine, so I drove home and attempted to reprogram the TPMS - unsuccessfully: I got neither one or two horn sounds. It was then that I noticed that neither key remote will work.

The dealer says that one of the tire sensors is defective, but I have no answer as yet as to why the remotes no longer work ....

The sensor above the overhead storage compartment is the receiver for both TPMS and keyless entry.

You may have an issue with that sensor. It's above the plastic to the left of the dome light and towards the front of the van. You can see it if you remove the dome. light housing.

If you are having issues with both things then that an awful coincidence.

There have been reports of cell phone chargers or other electronic devices interfering with this sensor. My camera screens do but I ignore it.
Nice catch, joefromga. That's exactly what it was. Dealer said he replaced the module today, and I'm picking up the van tonight or tomorrow.

I've learned more from this Transit forum in a month than I did in three years on the Honda Odyssey forum ....

I have been having a problem with the TPMS also. It will come on and flash for 70 seconds then go solid. Imformation I have read is that an interfering signal will cause this. Since I have a bunch of electronics installed, I thought that my equipment might be the source of interference. I have started the vehicle with every thing I installed turned off and still have had TPMS go through its cycle. No tires have low pressure. This only happens once in a while, so I ignore the dashboard lamp. According to my Helm service CD, the TPMS and Key FOB receivers are the same module.
Some have found that even a phone charger in the socket and not plugged into your phone can cause this issue. They emit emf and apparently this sensor is already weak.

The van is also a nice signal blocker. My GPS barely works unless it's way in the windshield. I have thought about moving the tpms/keyless receiver to the center of the roof to get better reception.
I just had the same symptoms as the original poster on this thread (45rake). He never gave us a final post to tell us how it ended, and I'll also say that I didn't have his additional symptom of the buttons on the inside of the doors failing to work. But my initial symptoms matched his.

Short version: the dealer reset the TPMS, the fobs stopped working, but re-pairing them with the van fixed them.

Long version: during my recent service (oil change, tire rotation, etc), they rotated the tires, but neglected to reset the tire pressures. Happily I didn't drive the van much before prepping for a road trip, and I was able to adjust them all appropriately in my driveway with my compressor. But I forgot to reset the TPMS. Of course, 15 miles into the trip, the TPMS alerted. I realized my mistake, we pulled over to verify all was actually well, and then had a fine weekend, ignoring the warning message and light.

Today I took the van to the dealer to a) complain about them not adjusting the tire pressures after a rotation, and b) to have them reset the TPMS. I could do it, but it's kind of a pain, as we all know.

[ I'll note that the dealer insisted that a TPMS reset shouldn't have been necessary after tire rotation ("It should reset itself"). I find that hard to believe. But that's fodder for a different thread. This thread is about TPMS and keyfobs. ]

They did the reset, quickly, using the little device you hold against the valve stems. When I got home, I realized none of the lock/unlock buttons on our keys or remote kepad worked at all.

I remember locking/unlocking the van in the parking lot at the dealer using the button on my key before they touched the van, so the failure was their fault.

I called the dealer, and while waiting for a callback I went through the pairing procedure for keys/keypads, and now all is well -- all remotes work as expected. When they did call back, they were surprised at the problem, and of course very happy that I'd solved it myself.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to reprogram my original keyfobs to lock/unlock the doors?

The dealer had to reprogram my one key I was using, but now all the other original keys (wife's, spare keys) wont lock/ unlock the doors. They still work to manually unlock the doors, and start the vehicle.

I've had it with the local dealer, and if this is something I can do myself I want to try it and never set foot in that dealership again.

They took my van in for the driveshaft recall, and when I got it back, the clock wasnt set to the correct time.
No biggie right? As soon as I got home, i tried to reset the time, it will let you go thru the motions, bit when you hit "OK" the new time wont take .

So I sent my vehicle in again, they fix the clock, but while I'm driving home the TPMS alerts come on warning of low tire pressure. I pull over to check, and all the pressures are fine.

So I send the vehicle back in for a third time, they fix the TPMS problem, on my way back to work, I make a stop, and notice my key fob wont lock or unlockk the doors.

So I drive back to the dealer, and tell them this is really getting old, please fix the key fob issue and dont break anything else!
The tech tries to tell me that the TPMS reset has nothing to do with the key fob issue (which reading this thread has proven that they are related because key and TPMS share the same receiver) and they want to charge me $15 for reprogramming the key. I told them I dont think I should pay for anything because the keys were working fine before they touched it, they write up the bill anyway, and i bitch to the manager before they waived the $15.

I really dont want to send it back to the dealer (who knows what else they are going to break, the techs obviously dont know their electrical stuff).

If I cant do this myself, I may have to go to a different dealer.

I found the above instructions, and got all of my fobs reprogrammed!.
Step 2 is incorrect. I just kept cycling the key from off to on until the dashboard chimed. Then the rest of the instructions worked as described.

MothaF'ers at the dealer wanted to charge me $15 for that? So never taking my van back to them.

It never ceases to perplex me that people who spend all day at a dealer with all the information at their disposal can be so inept sometimes. :|

Fortunately there are some dealer employees who are more professional.

The best thing is to be informed by forums such as this and making sure you hold them accountable. ;)
I have 2 working key fobs. I understand I can add a 3rd using 2 good ones. What I don't understand is how.

Funny this just happened to me , had my van serviced at the local ford dealer and this happen to mine. They ordered a new one had it for 7 hours and it's still not working. Said we must have gotten a bad part. Another one is on order.
