My slider is great too, sounds like yours needs some warranty attention.I love the slider. If you are having all those issues I would take it back to the dealer.
The future isn't what it use to be.
I have my local dealer looking into this.I think that is a low roof only option.
I have the 60/40 doors....they do not close as well as I was expecting. I was hoping that I could just push in firmly and quietly until I hear a "click". The /40 must be slammed hard while pushing in at the handle or bottom (from the wide plastic trim on the outside), and then checked by pulling outward at the bottom. If I can pull outward about 1/4" then I know it's not latched and must repeat again until it is....sometimes requiring several tries. The /60 door then will close OK, but still requires some effort if there is no way for the air to escape....like out an open window. My rear doors close exactly the same way. NOW....I know these doors can be adjusted at the latch on the top and bottom, I may give that a try.....but if set too loose may cause problems with fit and water leak. I would prefer a tight seal. This sliding door is horrible. It constantly needs adjustment, it's chipping the paint, and it is generally a pain compared to a 60/40 "normal" door.
Anyone done this yet? Or will I be the first?
Just close the door a bit past the 'stay-open' catch before you drive off, it'll close at your first stop.I was hoping ford would offer High Roof /Extended with 60/40 doors - Any chance of that ??
my left shoulder is F up and the thought of closing sliding door 10s of times a day is either
going to finish off my shoulder or make me look like the Left handed Hulk -
hatchet & GROOVY2,This sliding door is horrible. It constantly needs adjustment, it's chipping the paint, and it is generally a pain compared to a 60/40 "normal" door.
