Has anyone ever bought a harbour freight invertor,I know not the best but price is right,would like to use to maybe use microwave occasionally and maybe while driving powering my 4 cut ft fridge,if do are they very noisey? Thanks

Be aware that the microwave watt rating means cooking power. Actual power required to run my "600 watt" microwave is about 1140 watts.

A simple 600 watt microwave with two mechanical dials can be bought from K-Mart for around $50.00. Proctor-Silex brand.

HF inverters are probably modified sine wave. One item at HF that is useful is the "Kill-a-watt" meter to determine real amperage of electrical items.
