Looking for some information about the plastic covers for the wheel wells on the inside of the cargo vans ?

Mainly looking for pictures of how they attach to the side wall and the floor if they are anchored there too? Is there enough room to insulate and sound deaden between the wheel well and the cover itself ?

I can purchase them for $75 per cover but I may need to re make 2 of the side panels in my van to make them fit properly.

I can box them and make them out of wood too and carpet that to match but just kind of weighing my options and was hoping someone may have pictures to share?

Don't mean to aimlessly bump this to the top but it's been a few months and I do have some questions about how these mount to the floor mainly , their durability and how high they sit off the wheel well hump?

Is there enough room to insulate underneath them?

I'm torn with the idea of purchasing them or making contoured boxes over the wheel wells and carpeting them.

Here's the floor I have , with the gap I have in this pre cut wooden floor but I have my doubts the floor was cut this wide with these in mind vs just the huge gap when manufactured.

Any help with anyone who has removed theirs and possibly insulated underneath would be greatly appreciated.

I have scoured pictures here and I know I will have to remake the panel on the wall to fit the added height but where they attach on the wall (in he pictures I've found ) seem like they might be a really tight fit to the wheel well hump.

Yeah I am wanting to know as well. This seems to to be an easy way to get a real nice finish.

I can't believe Ford is charging $150 for the pair!

I'm away from the van for the next month or so, but if i remember correctly my wheel covers had one mounting point on the top center similar to the ones that hold the panels on the walls. And was otherwise held to the floor by the rubber mat laying on top of it.. I was able to put some dynamat underneath and it fit back in no problem. I dont know if it wouldbe possible to put an substantial insulation underneath and still mount it easily.

Hope that helps havent had the wheel covers off in a while..

Thanks! I will probably buy some new.

$112 if you are parting with US dollars.

Great info thanks amclean11 thanks so much. Knowing what I know now ordering all these little plastic pieces separately I would have ordered mine a little differently to get the side step , rear plastic and these liners and just threw the Matt out all together and been better off.

Yeah i didnt really want the load protection package at first but it may turn out to be a quite useful option once i get my conversion going. For templates and temporary walls until i decide on a permanent solution.

Just an update and maybe some detailed pictures for anyone wanting to order these for their van. Initial surprise was how much sound deadening insulation is on the inside .... Pleasantly surprised.

Another plus is they have slots on the lower lip so even if your floor is in you may ( I was able to for a test fit) slide them in with your floor in place.

Thanks, Haulin' Gas Adventures! I love you dude!

Quick question: Do you have to buy 2 or does it come with 2? Looks like the L and R sides are slightly different.

I did have to buy 2 and I don't really think they are actually any different but I'm home now so I'll look at the actual invoice and get you the exact info as the Ford dealer was having some issues getting them .....number change or something.

Hope that clears it up a little.

The fasteners I purchased with the covers I shouldn't have even bothered with I'll be screwing it in place instead of the push fasteners. He just said he had 3 of the 4 and he'd give me a deal on them. Some of those holes are filled with factory foam anyways.

Right cover installed just in relation to height for left side without cover.

I'm excited to see how much they quiet down road noise as I'm impressed how much sound deadening there is on the underside.

Drove the van a few times today picking up supplies and looking at flooring options and pleasantly surprised at the sound deadening effect of installing these. Two up

Thanks Haulin' Gas Adventures, that does clear it up a bit. It looks like there's a slight difference on the side next to the wall, closer to the floor, between the L and R sides. Your build is looking quite clean so far! Thanks for the info, this is so helpful OMG.

I had my dealer look these up and order some for me. What they came up with was the -DA number for one side and the -GB part number for the other. Well I received the DA part number tonight and I think they are for duallys. They stick out much further thank the wheel wells which it doesn't look like Haulin's do. I'll bring this one back and hopefully they can get the others soon, has been a week and a half since I ordered it and it hasn't come in. This doesn't look right, amirite?

Yeah definitely wider than what I have. Did they manage to find the right ones? My invoice is posted here if it helps.

Mine is a GB , I'm assuming the DA at the end of yours is for Duals. Other than that totally the same number
