Hello,

Regarding my 2015 Transit Connect XL - I recently had some work done on my front right wheel bearing and after getting the van back from the shop I have the following issues:

  • Information display reads blank "----" (odometer, estimated miles, trip miles)
  • Speedometer will not work, always reads zero while driving
  • "Hill start assist not available" message
  • ABS system malfunction message
  • Traction control malfunction message
The shop said they found possible rodent activity and that it's possible some wires were chewed through.

Is there any way for this to be fixed? I cannot find ANY information on this particular problem.

Thank you!

Sounds more like they jacked up the wheel speed sensor. i have no idea which wheel they pull that signal from, but if it worked before you took it in..... or maybe VSS is on the tranny, im sure some smart guy on here will fill you in.

Maybe your right, but the original post said that the display reads "-----" for the odometer and I think the odometer should still display the mileage even with all wheel speed sensors disconnected. Maybe the cluster went bad because I think that is where the odometer is stored. Maybe you could try that first, you might be able to find a cluster for around $100 on ebay, its easy to replace. Then if it works correcting the odometer can be done as long as the new cluster has less miles than the vehicle, meaning the odometer can only be corrected by going forward and not back.

Maybe, actually trying to remember if my Odo went blank on my BMW recently when wheel sensor failed. I feel like it did.
