Thanks for posting about this, should help folks get vehicles that haven't had any things done to them that shouldn't have happened during the whole transit process. I'd hate to own one of those.

Always easier to look for these things before taking delivery than having to deal with all you have to after taking delivery... big headache.

A lot depends on what was damaged on the vehicle. If it is vehicle body damage and the vehicle was not totaled, then it may not affect the warranty. These vehicles are sold via the Ford dealer auction and sold as used vehicles. We tracked BW5s Transit and it was sold to a Oklahoma Ford/Lincoln dealer and put on the pre-owned lot for sale. Funny this one had a CarFax on it and nothing was showing up on it. We knew for sure it had body damage that was caused on the KC plant lot.

Bringing this thread back as some of these vehicles have been released by Ford via the Ford auctions and you may be seeing these online for real cheap pricing. Click on the link in post #1 and read all the comments from buyers who have seen or purchased vehicles with the 000G000 code on the ONLINE WINDOW STICKER NOT the Original Window Sticker

Bringing this back up as you might want to checkout the online window sticker when looking at one of these low mileage USED Transits that is selling for a really low price.

Once the Transit got fixed and went from TAG 000G000, here was the last listing for the window sticker that shows it went through auction and out to the selling Ford dealer.

One other "gotcha" on shipping damage.
On my 2018 I found my front underpan pretty bashed up and the intercooler bottom couple of rows mashed in.

It was obvious it was done during shipping the way the marks were- something was rubbing/hitting that area repeatedly.

Guess what? Ford does not warranty shipping damage after just a couple of weeks. I didn't find my damage until a month or more had passed and was told not covered/tough luck/should have caught it when you bought it.

Oddly enough my 2015 had similar damage to the intercooler but not as bad.

Who looks UNDER a new car before driving it off the lot? I will from now on.

Bringing this forum thread up to make NEW forum members and ones looking at Transits on the dealer lot about this situation. READ IT!!! and be AWARE of this when looking at ads especially on the Pre-Owned side of the dealership. Not a bad thing to even bring up the online window sticker even on a NEW Transit to be sure it is not a repaired unit.
