I have a 2017 Transit Wagon LWB LR, took seats out and “made it” RV. We live in Florida, weekender boondockers. I am looking for help in isolation and airflow. Trying to keep it minimally invasive, for cargo use (all RV stuff is easily removable) and resale value. Also, is my daily driver.
Currently have windows covered by R3.2 board, a 10kBTU portable air conditioner on shore power and a battery fan for boondocking. Took out the exhaust flaps under D pillar and usually leave front windows craked open.
The problem is heat everywhere near Florida, most of the year. We can’t boondock there at 65 degrees, and most nights here are warmer than that (this week, late February, every day Saturday to Thursday!)
Also interested in isolation for cold weather, but that one is less urgent, until next winter.

Hi Danny,

It may be moderately invasive, but a powered roof fan will make a huge difference in your comfort, won't impede cargo usage, and will either be neutral or slightly enhance resale value.

I have the rear door prop linked above and find it as useful, perhaps more, than my MaxxAir exhaust fan. Some of this is due to our bed positioning but there is nice crossflow from front windows opened a couple inches and the rear doors opened with the prop.
I also find it secure, difficult to access anything from the outside.
Pricey but useful.

Glad to hear that. I was certain I remembered that someone had used this set up but couldn't remember who and couldn't find a thread on it.

Thanks for the responses!! I already ordered the door prop and I am considering the Thinsulate. Rain is not a big problem, no much water damage to happen back there, before we know it and react.
