The Transit ignition switch works like my Sprinter did...after positioning the key to start even for just a moment it continues to crank itself until engine start. None of my other cars do that, is this a new common method?

Seems to be as our last 2010 Chevrolet and our current '12 Jeep Wrangler do the same thing. I like it.....

My parents' 2006 Audi does that as well. Only takes a momentary touch to the start position.

Problem is, I've gotten used to driving my girl's '08 Mini Cooper. With the wireless key and push button start. When I drive it for a few days its a bit odd to go back to my '99 Audi and have to unlock the car, and have the key out of my pocket.

Its a push button start but you use the key instead. The problem I have seen is that people may turn the key and let go and before the engine is actually started, they are shifting out of park. Obviously not the way to go.
