I'd like some Captains Chairs in my Trainsit but...

(sorry in advance, the text editor does not let me put paragraph breaks in!) I didn't realize it would be so difficult to find some captains chairs for my 148" Transit, but am finding it a challenge - even in Houston, TX. I keep coming across www.shop4seats.com/ when web searching but my phone call to them today was mediocre at best. The sales lady, seemingly quite knowledgeable at first, didn't seem to understand that Transits are a competing product of the Sprinter. They have a whole dedicated line of seats that work with Sprinters which have integrated seatbelts, but for non-Sprinters (i.e. "Econo-lines") we would be limited on selections because non-Sprinters do not have the ability to reinforce the seat (plates on the bottom). Even though I said that we are looking for seats for the Transit, at the end of our conversation she asked "what is the make/model and year of your van?". We want to put 4 of the best (comfort, durability, safety, and just plain awesome) captains chairs in the rear of our Transit followed by a bench/sofa/bed seat in the back. Does anyone out there know of any places (preferably in Houston/Texas but could go further out)? Thanks!

Since you are in Houston, you might make a trip up north to Austin and go see Sportsmobile Custom vans. They have captain chairs as well as other additions like couches, sofas, beds, and other built-ins.

Website is Sportsmobile Custom Camper Vans - Your Home Away From Home. Give credit to Shawn (ilovehotshot) on this forum as she is going to this place sometime in the next week.
What is the dealer that told you that production is 2 months behind? Not a very informed dealer. You need to get a status report on this vehicle from the dealer.

If you ordered a 2016, you should received a VIN within a couple of weeks at the most and given a scheduled build date.
Most were scheduled within 2 months of order date except the ones ordered with Dual Sliding Doors. Production is not behind, they have a scheduled build system and your order falls into the schedule based on type of Transit ordered. There are a lot of orders coming into the system so the 2 month wait is because of orders ahead of yours.

If you ordered the Builders Prep package, you get the factory front seats. Based on what seats you ordered, they would be factory seats like any wagon (pewter cloth or charcoal cloth, pewter vinyl, or pewter leather) I know of 3 ordered Transits with the Builders Prep package and they all have the same front factory seats as the regular Transit van or wagon. There are 3 low roof wagons with the Builders Prep package sitting on the lot NOW at Five Star Ford in Plano, TX. Here are the VINs and you can look at them on their site.
