I have a howl coming from the rear of my Transit..

I have a whining or howling noise coming from the rear end of my Transit.. I don't hear it unless I have the cruise on the highway.. If I turn the cruise off or just let off the gas it stops until I turn it on or press on it again. It seems louder on certain roads than others..

Thoughts?
