For those of you with 12 inch screens - how do you like controlling heat/cooling via the screen?

It works great for me. It's easy to change temperature and access the different features. I love that big screen! Get the 360 camera as well if you are debating options.

It took some getting used to for me, for sure. It's just a matter of getting the muscle memory--which is definitely kicking in. Really love the big screen and Agree with LumberJeff--the 360 camera is amazing. I wish I had it on my Subaru!

Does it bother your night vision at night having the big screen? I know you can turn down the brightness, but I wonder if it would be distracting?

I like the big screen i hate that the climate controls are in it. I'd rather be able to reach over and touch/feel where it is. For me the climate control doesn't work even with the update. It is either full hot or full cold. The dark mode for night time on the screen is perfect as it doesn't distract me at all.

Agreed.
I hate that they put all the controls on the screen. What if it gets cracked or broken? What if it just fails?
Our heat and a/c worked great until they did the update, then it got all wonky.
Wish they would do the big screen and keep all the controls below it.

It is ok but like most I'd prefer a knob/button separate from the screen.

So, if the screen fails, you can't control your heat/AC? Or a bunch of other vehicle functions?
Seems like a great idea! What could go wrong!
At this point, there's so much 'lectrical stuff involved, any issue could take out the entire van... 😏

i like it...definintely use dark mode all the time though otherwise the screen is a bit bright for my linking.

ac/heat controls are pretty decent through the monitor...the mode/vent control seems to lag a second when pushing the "button" though. the rest of the screen haa a great response time

Judging by the complaints I have read elsewhere it is just a digital screen on a old HVAC unit, People are upset because they set it on 72 degree's but the actual temperature varies by plus or minus 10 degree's.
They are mad because the display is not highly accurate.

I like the old style where you set it on max heat and then control temperature with fan speed.

I may be wrong but I think the temperature regulator is a chip that senses the chip and then turns the climate on or off. If the temp drops below your set temp it turns the heater on until it warms up to the desired temp then off. Same with AC. So yes, the air is either gonna be cold or hot.

I can have it set on 66 and it is still cranking out heat. I have a thermostat in the back of the van by the bed that will read 80 where it feels cooler than what it is in the front seats. Uncomfortable hot. I have to reach over and turn the entire system off then when i get cold I turn it back on until it gets to hot again.

I know it is a chip malfunction but there are no chips and I'm not leaving my van waiting in a lot for one to come in.

Hmmmm….. I literally just asked my dealer to update my stock order to include the 12” Sync 4 unit as well as the 360 degree camera. I do have reservations about the electronic temp controls. Having said that, I don’t think I would be happy with the tiny 4” screen.

I wasn't implying all sync4 have temp issues was just saying mine does and it sucks. I like dials and wish i had them rather than the new system. Same as with the espar heaters some have issues. I never even dropped my tank to insert a pickup line and mine works flawless. Works better for regulating the heat in my van than the built in climate control by far.
