I despise having horn start honking for security. Either from hitting the panic button by mistake on key fob or for some unkown reason. I also bought the remote start to be used for heating van first thing in the morning. Remote start is programmed to flash lights and honk the horn before engine starts. Not exactly what you want early in the morning if you are stealth camping or in a campground.
So for a short term (or maybe long term solution) I found the horn and disconnected the connector at the horn. No horn no noise. So far no dash warning lights and engine starts with key and with remote. I will see if Ford dealer can reprogram, but if not horn will remain disconnected. I never use a horn anyway.

Must be that Northern Cal mellowness 'thang.
You'd never last in NYC!
Here in Detroit I never use the horn either.....afraid I'd be shot if I did!

This was a funny thread! I wonder why they have it set this way. My 2021 still has that programming. I will have to give the manual read through so I can figure out where that horn disconnect is because I feel the same way. Thanks for the post

Another choice would be to add a switch to the positive wire to the horn.

This is an old thread but I’ll add for anyone looking for a solution. The horn and lights can be turned off for the factory installed remote start using a sequence to enter the programming mode and combination of brake taps to set the horn and or brakes on / off.

I’ll see if I can find my info on it, but I know it is on the forum here somewhere.

Edit: link

I have the factory Remote start that I never installed, been a few years since I looked at the directions, IIRC the little back box has leads for Horn and Lights etc. that are not required for hook up, I will dig it up and report back.
