Hi All,

Long time troller on the forum, newly registered. I ordered a R2D Long Transit Crew with eco boost in mid August. I see lots of chatter on the forum about US folks getting their build dates etc, but I don't see much from Canada. I know we have a different system ( no COVP). I have yet to get a build date and I was wondering if any of my fellow Canucks have received their build dates??

Thanks for all the good info here!!

Hi All:
I'm another Canuk longtime lurker - first post - not encouraged by what I see here. After much waffling about what to buy I ordered a HR 148 Eco in mid August from a Toronto dealer. It seems like the Canadian ordering system is kinda like you pay yer deposit and are told to go stand in line ... and expect to wait months or years and hear nothing until the last minute. I'm in no huge hurry but am not getting my hopes up for a 2023.... I expect to be balanced out like Vanski and have to try again for a 2024... Sheesh.
I get the same feeling from my dealer. They have been helpful with the ordering, but there is never any info to share and I get way more info about what is going on with Ford Transits here than from the dealer any day.

I agree, low expectations, and hope it just get built.

I just received a call from my dealer. He said that he had received some New Year Guidance from Ford regarding orders in the system (and new orders for other vehicles). He told me that Ford says that vehicles with Sync4, HID Lights, High-Res back-up camera and Blind Spot system WITH assist… will have a delay in scheduling or even not be able to be scheduled and that FORD was suggesting modifying these options to more available choices. Has anyone else heard similar??

I called Ford Canada today and they told me I have a build date of Feb 20, 2023!! I made changes in early Jan to get rid of hig res back up cam/sync 4/ HID lights/Blind Spot with assist. I’m going to call my dealer to see if those options are still a limitation. If it wont affect my build date, I’ll see what I can add back. It looks like some are being scheduled with a few of those options.

It’s a CrewVan (148 MR, 3.5EB, AWD). Dealer sent more info that they received from Ford…

2023MY Transit

· Orders with the following features may take longer to schedule due to limited availability:

o Chrome High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlamps (91A). Please consider removing where possible.

o Black High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlamps (91C). Please consider removing where possible.

o 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Engine (99G). Please consider removing where possible.

o High Resolution Digital Camera (61E). Please consider removing where possible.

o 360-Degree Camera with Split View and Front Washer (61D). Please consider removing where possible.

Also, Ford won't allow any changes to a factory order once it's been issued a serial number (VIN) they don't tell us why it got chosen to be built vs other orders, they just make recommendations as above throughout the process.

So, not going to be able to add anything back. But that is OK as I now have a build date and a VIN. I don’t want to get my hopes up too much as this forum is full of people with build dates that keep getting moved around or cancelled. Either way, its a step up from unscheduled-clean!!

Congratulations for the VIN and built date man. None of these above recommended to be taking out was in my original built, except the 3.5EB the desired part along with AWD. I was of the same impression that because of EcoBoost once I have received VIN and proposed built date, will see delayed after delay saga.

Initially the build date was Jan 16, 2023, then it changed to Jan 23, 2023 ( and I say here you the delay begins) , but the unit has the window sticker issued and in the top section it shows the build date of 20230123 which is the build date, called ford and they said it is on assembly line.

Initially the EcoBoost were holding up, but on forums I see alot of EcoBoost get ahead, not sure about the rest of the options.
Good luck. I hope it shows up soon. Keep us up to date, I’m interested in how long it takes to ship once it’s completed.

What information of do we have to give Ford Canada when we call them? I just know what order I placed and through whom.
If you got a sales preview (the sheet that lists the options you have and the costs of them) it will have the sales code and order code. Those are the two things that Ford Canada asked me when I called.

I saw the info on that recall a couple of weeks ago but now I can't find it. My van is supposedly on a rail car heading this way and I'm wondering if it's affected
Try going to this website and entering your VIN to see if it is recalled. Recalls | NHTSA I got this site from the forum discussion about the recall.

Good luck and. I hope it is not recalled!!
