Hello everyone. I'm a new owner of a 2015 Ford transit. Purchased from Manteno in Illinois. My fiance and I flew to Chicago Saturday morning and drove it back to Orlando. Took us 19.5 hrs, with a stop in Atlanta to see our god daughter. Totally impressed with the ride of the Transit. I purchased it to be my toy hauler for my race bikes. I race a Ducati 1199 Panigale with WERA in the South East region. List of mods will include:

Pit-Bull TRS trailer restraints
Transit wall and roof kit by Legend
Backup camera from rearviewsafety.com
Air vent from maxxair
LED lighting in the cargo area
Rubbermaid FastTrack system with 84' & 48" rails
RV type connector for shore power and Battery and inverter for mobile power

I've been reading up on the shore power/battery power options, but no sure about exactly what I need. I would like to run off a separate battery (not the stock battery) while driving for laptops and race suit dryer and be able to run shore power at the track. I want this system totally separate from the OEM Ford electrical wiring. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings from California! I just bought a 2015 Transit Van myself, and I'd like to put Pit-Bull restraints in it as well. How did that installation go? Could you post, or send, some pictures of the interior?

Cheers!

Hello Eric. We haven't installed the pit bull trs system. Hopefully, either Friday or Saturday. We will install the first behind the passenger seat, mounting the pit bull trs plate in front of the rear wheel. Gives usmore room behind the bike for the generator. I'll take pics and post them.

Is there really THAT much to be saved that makes it worth flying several states away and driving home? A local, or nearby, dealer couldn't get close enough in pricing to balance the travel costs?

My local dealer did well enough to match price on a very large regional dealer; pleased with that as I was willing to pay a bit more to stay local. Especially since that's who I'm most likely to deal with for service.

I wanted a specific color, red, that I could only find at this dealership. It was a great price and it gave us a chance to drive long distance to really test the truck. It cost me less money to fly and pick it up vs having it shipped and I needed it ASAP because I have a race coming up. So, for me, it was worth it. I will be traveling to COTA in TX, Miller Park in Utah and one of the west coast track next year, so we feel great about the truck.

Thanks! Are you going to install some sort of solid flooring, or just bolt the TRS plates to the floor through the rubber mat?

I lucked out with my local dealership, but I would rather make a trip like that than wait the 10-12 weeks that they're quoting for special orders.

For now, we will bolt thru the rubber mat. Unless, the shop thinks otherwise.
