Has anybody installed a grab handle on the driver side similar to the same handle on the passenger side ? I'm missing the grab handle on our F250 for hauling myself into the driver's seat.
Possible complications/negatives to attaching a handle to the A pillar on the driver side ?

Yes I would love the option too.. My wife will be needing it for sure when she start driving the Transit.

I have one installed on my "A" pillar.

Installer must be someone experienced, the pillar has a lot of electronics wiring and air bag, inside of it. Believe they took my passenger side "A" pillar apart to see exactly where they could place it. Picture of it on Thread "On the Road Again"

It can be done.

It is discussed in other Threads, also. Type in driver's grab handle in SEARCH box, above right.

Bought them at QVC I think. They lock into the door latch but are also glass break, seat belt cutter, mini flashlight...

I suppose you could, but if you want to do it that way, why do it at all. :| It won't be secure, most likely with any appreciable weight, it will pop the whole trim piece off. That's why they are secured to the pillars.

Watch out for the air bag in the pillar and all the wiring. I wish I had a grab handle on the drivers side also but I will not even try to install one because there are no holes for handle. Maybe a Transit from England with right hand drive would have the handle on our drivers side.

Has anybody added a grab handle on the left side of the sliding door opening?

There is one on the right but not the left and I'd definitely like to add one on the left.

I'm considering just buying the same one that's there and installing it on the left side.

For me, the steering wheel is my grab handle. This should work for a lot of people, even if it takes a little getting used to. Don't be shy -- just grab it and haul yourself up.
