Hi!

Received the VIN today for the van build. I'm super excited! Looks like 3mo + the Quigley conversion time. My dealer forgot to put the Quigley conversion into the build and called today to confirm that I wanted that...I almost pooped my pants... can't imagine my reaction of the van showing up without it, as it's the only reason I ordered a Transit in the first place.

The build:

T-150 XL MR 148" Magnetic w/ charcoal
EcoBoost, 3.31 LS
Quigley 4x4 (at least, it better)
10W Power seats
Reverse park aid
Keyless entry
HD Trailer Tow Package
Short power mirrors
Sync 3
Dual batteries + heavy duty alternator, upfitter switches
Power inverter
Passenger side window w/ privacy glass

I plan to do a minimal RV setup, with insulation, walls, ceiling fans, and ceiling... removable bed + galley.
I'll be using it as a moto hauler at times, so I do want to use it as a traditional VAN.

Thanks for all the info posted here, I'm sure I'll post some build photos when I start. :D

On the MR Transit, you will have to go to PA to get it or arrange transportation to get it. They will only send the LR models back to the dealer.

Where'd you get this information? I've seen multiple MR's delivered to the Ford dealer here in Oregon from Quigley, I drove them. I was told Ford -> Quigley -> Oregon would take about 5 - 6mo, and was quoted delivery costs.

You might contact Quigley and see what they tell you. They do not deliver Transits. Your dealer can make arrangements to get them from PA to you but you have to pay for the transportation. We have sold customer ordered Transits sent to them, with one being a LR that came back to us, 2 that were MR with one being picked up by the customer and the other the customer paid to have it delivered back to Matt Ford. The last one is at Quigley and will be released to the customer on January 25th when completed. He is waiting to see the weather situation to decide if he will go get it or have it transported.

Ah yeah... the dealer quoted me delivery costs, so they must have some sort of arrangement. It's not cheap, but I don't want to put an immediate 2k highway miles on a new motor driving it home.

@audiopyle - It is a great trip. I plan on driving from Portland to Cape Cod in August. Looking forward to it!
@CrewVanMan - I'm having some trouble tracking my order with the VIN I was given. Any way you can PM me to figure that out? I can't PM you.

Re: engine break-in, I'd rather do that on backroads to prevent the RPMs staying steady for too long. I have a couple PNW trips planned while I work on wiring / insulation.

I decided to take y'all's advice and go pick the van up in PA, saving about 3k in delivery costs. The van is ready at Quigley, and I fly out tonight to pick it up tomorrow morning. Going to stop at an Ikea first thing, get a full-size foam mattress and pillow, and start a nice first-journey back to Portland.

Thanks for all the info here. It's an awesome resource and community.

I did a round trip out to PA and back for my conversion in 2017. Ask them what they think of Ford going AWD on them. Really curious.

I totally forgot to ask them on this, sorry. I was too occupied oogling all of the bays and vans being worked on during the factory tour.

I was also a little pissed at the interior/exterior condition of my van, just having spent a ton of money... Both were filthy. I had to vacuum all of the plastic bits from drilling them 4x4 light from the dashboard, wash off all of the mechanic's greasy handprints from both driver and passenger door interior, and wash/scrape what looked to be a giant bug splat on the interior doorframe by the seatbelt. Not something I thought I'd see on pickup of a new vehicle. Maybe the dealers usually do the cleaning on delivery?

Made the drive to Michigan where my sister lives. Glad I got the EcoBoost! >:D It's way louder than I thought it'd be inside the van, so I'm looking forward to getting it insulated, and the floor/ceiling/wall installed.

At the end of my day, I turned the vehicle off and heard/watched a giant dump of water from the exhaust manifold. I didn't have AC on, so I'm wondering if this is from the turbo?
