Borrowed a transit,148,3.7 engine, 3.73 gears this weekend,it was almost on mt,so brought it down to empty, filled it up and only got 17.8 gallons into it, even tried rocking it. The reading on dash stated 123 miles to mt so that makes sense, has anybody else noticed this aberration, does cj need to bring it in to complain?thanks

I just put 22.6 gal in mine (#B 3.31ls), said 3 miles to empty. Don't know if up-fitters put any in on top of my original tank full. I'll be checking the future fill ups, now that I have it back.

Remember to get an accurate reading display, -vs- the old method of hand calculating, you have to put in only the same exact amount of gas as the display says you used. Otherwise you have apples and oranges and they won't be equal.

From the owner's manual, p. 122:

"Note: The amount of fuel in the empty
reserve varies and should not be relied upon
to increase driving range. When refueling
your vehicle after the fuel gauge indicates
empty, you might not be able to refuel the
full amount of the advertised capacity due
to the empty reserve still present in the fuel
tank."

I ran mine down to about 8 miles of range and couldn't even get 20 gallons in.

Yes that's true BUT, when the gas guage reads zero, I would not expect to put in 7gallons,true can watch the dash display to see how many miles left, but I,m old enought not to believe in the accuracy of the digital world ,being that dashboard is bouncing down the road mile after mile, thru heat and cold.

I don't have the laughably incorrect onboard MySuc system; after low fuel light has come on and then driving another 20-30 miles, I've been able to get 22 gallons into it. I get roughly 100 miles per quarter tank, the first quarter goes slow, but catches up to 300 miles by the time the needle hits 1/4 tank.
