Anyone else having the fuel hose at the gas pump not staying connected to their fuel fill? I usually have to hand-pump, which is totally inconvenient.

It seems there's nothing for the nozzle to lock onto, or it's at the wrong angle. It sometimes stays briefly, but pops out with the weight of the hose.

I'm in California if that makes any difference, I know our hoses are more complicated than some places (but I had this problem in Nevada too).

Thanks!

Oh, you have those outer shrouds that are supposed to make complete seal around the filler neck? I haven't seen those since leaving Calif. 11 years ago. Even then, not all areas were mandated to use those IIRC.

I can see where that would be an annoyance. Is there no spring coil around the nozzle, inside the shroud, that can hook inside your filler neck, maybe if you press the nozzle in harder/further?

Yes, if I press harder it goes in. Problem is I have to hold it in, it doesn't stay in by it's own accord. Therefore, I can't auto-pump. Sucks, really.

The technical term for that apparatus is Godzilla's Foreskin and, yes, it's an issue with the capless fill on the Transit. Huge PITA. Seems to be getting better but the capless fill is still definitely not an asset here. The ghetto fix is to hang a weight on the fill handle.

I am in California and I have had problems but not about the spout falling out. I push it in hard then tip the handle down seems to work the best for me. Filling on automatic it shuts off before fully full. The first time I restarted it on low flow and it did not shut off just overflowed. So the next time I hand held it -- and it did not shut off just overflowed. So I just accept I will not fill it completely. The gas gauge goes to full but is quickly down to 3/4. I guess I am just used to filling to the top of the fill pipe? My 2015 Transit T150 replaced my 1995 F150, cars sure have changed in the past twenty years.

The way things are going there in Cali...soon you won't have to worry about it.

The Government there will have a minority/transgender/otherwise confused in some way employee pump it for you...at $15 an hour.

2015 T250 148" EL San Diego, Ca

Purchased fuel this morning, experienced the pump clicking off as the handle backs out by itself. Just over 1200 miles, and I am already over this lame problem !! I have to stand there and hold the pump the entire fill cycle. 40 years of work trucks and never such a ridiculous issue, except with a brand new 2012 Dodge 2500 crew cab I had as a rental. Mopar puts a anti fuel theft ball inside the filler tub to prevent fuel siphoning with a hose. Pump clicked every 20 seconds at any fill rate. After it took me almost 30 minutes to buy fuel, I took the truck back to the rental company and rented something else.:(

I doubt Ford will treat this as a warranty issue !!
