I don’t think Ford’s online system even allows you to change the tires to the all terrain. The all terrain ones you mentioned are included with the trail package
Then it is quite curious why the Order Summary I got from the dealer when I placed the order lists the other wheels and tires and not the Alloy Wheels and All Terrain tires. Hoping it is just a online system glitch

It's because the vans are originally built with stock wheels and tires. All the unique Trail parts including alloy wheels and AT tires are installed off the main assembly line to keep the production process simplified.

The wheels and tires are definitely part of the package, don't worry (y)

I also ordered a Trail this past week. Sat beside the dealer also and (as said in last posts) only option was steel wheels and std tires. Dealer called Ford and as after van build Trails vans go to a mod shop for the final specified wheels and tires. But i have a question I am sure we have all seen the same van in the Youtube videos, anyone venture a guess what color that is ? Thanks in advance

If the van will get to a mod shop, what will Ford do to those replaced wheels and tires? Recycle them and put onto other new vans?

I have just recently ordered a W3U transit trail from a local dealer. I also just canceled an existing order (sept 22) for a S4U, opting to switch to the trail model for my camper conversion. Fingers crossed it will be delivered before summer 2023.
The trail package (47N) on the Product Features List, and all of Ford's online advertising includes (16" Transit Trail Black Alloy Wheels) and (245/75 R16 Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse All Terrain Tires). When placing the order on Ford's online software (I was sitting right next to my salesman so I know it was not BS), the the order summary comes back with 16" steel wheels and 235/65R16c BSW All-Season tires. Any attempt to change the wheel and tire kicks you out of the 47N trail package.
So the question is: Is this a software glitch, or are they substituting these wheels and tires for a technical issue and/or a supply chain issue? While it was not a deal breaker for placing the order, it's a little disappointing to have a switcheroo at the last minute. My salesman had no explanation, especially since the trail package is so new.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Ford is going to place the Silver painted AWD wheels on the Transit on the assembly line and then change them over once it gets to the Mod Shop. ALL of the added outside features you see on the Transit Trail will be added at the Mod Shop.

YES, they will place those base wheels on the vans and make trips between the Mod Shop and the Transit assembly line with changing wheels over to the Transit Trail wheel combination.

I think I found the building that will possibly be the Mod Shop. If it becomes the correct one, it will only be about 15 minutes from the Transit assembly plant.

Thank you sir. That definitely make sense. So the next question is the spare tire, which is included. I assume it is underneath, but there was some discussion on this forum about enough space for it. Thoughts?

Does anyone know what the color of the transit trail is that they are featuring in their videos ? View attachment 183003
I’m fairly confident it’s Avalanche Grey.

This was previously discussed on this thread, but the spare tire is not the All Terrain tire. Ford’s Chief Transit Engineer said it’s within 8% of the original size and will be able to get you to a dealer and have the bad tire replaced. Look on YouTube for the channel “We’re the Russo’s”. They did a Q&A with the guy from Ford.

The base Transit vehicle will be built at the plant, then it will be directed to the Mod Show to have all of the special Transit Trail items placed on it there. Some trim parts may be left off at the plant like the wheel lip moldings and the replacement ones for the Transit Trail would be added at the Mod Shop. The base Silver AWD wheels will be placed on it just to get it to the Mod Shop.

When Ford was building the Amazon vans, they were leaving off the rear bumper and the side trim by the side door for the aftermarket added items that were unique to that van. Curious what Ford will leave off the Transit Trail models before they head over to the Mod Shop.

Those mud flaps seem to be unique to the Trail, too. The Transit Trail they showed off in all their promotional material and videos had the same design. It like them!

Nice to finally see another color, thanks!

Is it me, or does the front tire clearance look smaller than the rear? The whole van looks tipped forward. Hopefully the front end isn’t finalized and will be lifted up to match the back for production.
I am guessing it is the same effect you get with a regular 350 van that has no load in it. Mine was also slightly higher in the back.

A new detail (for me) that I have noticed is that the antenna on the roof is placed farther back.
Or maybe that's how it is on a mid roof? On my high roof it is much closer to the slope above the windshield.
