Ford has issued a recall order that affects nearly 20,000 Transit Connect cargo vans in North America. The recall order affects vehicles that were built in the Valencia Assembly Plant in Spain between August 9th, 2013 and September 20th, 2014. These vehicles may have been produced with sliding door panels that were improperly adhered. The defect can result in noise, water intrusion, a loose panel or complete separation. If separation occurs while the car is in motion, it could result in accident or injury.
As of yet, Ford is unaware of any incidents related to the defect.
Dealers will repair the issue at no cost to the customer.
