It appears that Ford is making the switch from Microsoft to Blackberry before releasing any new Transits with the MyFord/MyTouch system, despite initial orders and the "build and price" with photos showing the Microsoft system.

After more than 3 years using the existing Microsoft branded MyTouch on our Explorer, I can say that I'm glad they are dropping Microsoft but bummed that I will have to wait many more months for the Transit (yes, I'd rather wait than get one sooner without it being loaded with all the sweet stuff!).

I received confirming word today from the Ford dealer in Houston that both of my Transits on order (a 150 and 350, both LWB, medium roof, loaded, placed on May 8th), are on "material hold" indefinitely due to the MyTouch.

Below is a reference of changeover, but does anyone else have any insight?

Yes, I just got some news on that from my dealer...I'm pretty pissed off. Being told that it could be December before it is built with a late Jan early Feb delivery.
Not what I wanted to hear. If in fact those will be the dates, I will delay delivery until March or April as I am not doing a truck/van switchover in the winter here.

Here in Los Angeles a dealer called to say they had a couple of Transits...turns out they have THREE medium-roof cargo vans. They're very cool, but the salesman said the shorter wheel-base, medium-top van that I think I'm interested in will be delayed. It's really big, I discovered. It was hard for me to climb into with my blown-out knee. I have a picture of it on my iPhone...but how would I post it here?

I am in The same boat, Ordered on May 10th, Told By the Dealer last week, (After I called Them!!) first week of December for production and Late January Delivery. (How much you want to bet it will be much later than that!!) Like Mhnatt, I would rather wait for what I ordered than get what I didn't want (Dealer gave me the option to go with a lesser radio to get it in October, I declined) And like 79ranger, I dread switching over vehicles in Wisconsin's Winter, It is getting painted and lettered and many other uplifts when it finally gets here, I own an Auto Glass Business, I am expanding and Hired another installer who is getting my current ride (09 E-150) This is delaying our start up, We were expecting the Transit to be here by now so Yea... were upset!! One bright side, I Loaded up this Vehicle with just about every option, Remote Start was not available when I ordered however, It will be in December and it was added to my order. Also doing my own research on the radio issue I found several unhappy Ford owners with Ecoboost problems, I sure hope I do not regret going with this Motor!!!

I doubt you will regret the engine, unhappy people always whine the loudest while the vast bulk of happy people are just happy and don't say anything.
We have an Ecoboost in a Lincoln and are very happy as are the guys that I know that have them in pickups.

I ordered my new 2015 transit cargo van ( June 10th) with all the upgraded options..leather power seats, med height, back up camera and sensors, navigation, the works. Whatever was available, I had ordered. Now I'm hearing that I won't be getting it until December because of the navigation system. I hope it's worth the wait. I have a perfectly good 2009 GMC Savanna with only 66000 miles on it. So I can wait it out but do I want to... thats the question. I put a nice deposit down for this order and plus I am getting $11,000 for a trade in. Kind of frustrated about the wait.

I have a High Roof Extended on order, for a few weeks now. I was told about the hold on the audio (MyFord Touch), but the dealer has been unable to get me any info from Ford on a timeframe. Has anyone on here received any more information as to how long this hold is going to keep our vehicles from being scheduled for assembly?

My impression is that the dealer is the last to know, as Ford is being tight-lipped about this roll-out. It may actually be true that the company does not know what the production/delivery schedules are, because the entire process is being run by "just in time" algorithms which adjust production based on sales patterns. [I am not joking.]

The best my local sales rep. has been able to do over the last two months is to turn on his vehicle delivery radar every few days, and see what pops up as heading for his dealership. Sometimes, when lucky, he knows 2-3 days in advance what the next semi is bringing. Yesterday he said that no Wagon models of any kind are on his radar for this week, but that he would check again later in the week.

Various Wagon model links have been posted here, and they seem to be from large dealers closest to the production facility in Kansas City. There are VIN numbers for each Wagon, and the photos look like they were taken on the dealer's lot FWIW.

Heck of a way to keep us informed, Ford . . .

Talked to dealer today. Was told build date has gone from dec 5 to jan 9, to to be delivered Feb 13.
Long WB, HR, My touch, 3.5 turbo, cargo van.
Pretty much new the call was coming from reading the posts here.
Not much I can do and really not worried. Would rather have the newer version of my touch going forward anyway.

Just read this online.

Maybe we will all get the My touch if they hold off till 2016 for the newer Sync 3. More of " Who knows what Ford is doing crap"

If you have time CrewVanMan could you give us an update on this Transit with MyFord Touch, apparently?

I have started a thread for new already-delivered Transits which actually have the MFT installed FYI:

Thanks

PS -- edit -- if it makes sense, maybe you could also post your feedback on the Have Window Sticker thread, where we have been tracking VIN numbers, production start dates, etc.:

Desi, I am wondering what the current status of your order is, in view of all the MyFord Touch issues floating around.

If you are able to see and print your window sticker, please post it on the following thread if you want feedback:

Note that Sweetb728 just posted her window sticker with Production Start date of 1/23 and MFT missing the CD player.

Note also willy1959's feedback at dealer re Ford email saying no more CD player in MFT.

Dearborn information.........................

All Transits still on the Kansas City lot have had their window stickers changed to the UPDATED WINDOW STICKER. If you have a WINDOW STICKER PRINTED IN DECEMBER with the MFT/CD on it will NOW HAVE THE 'CD' REMOVED on the NEW WINDOW STICKER PRINTED IN JANUARY

So NOW this will have the WINDOW STICKER MATCHING what is actually in the TRANSIT. What about those of US who ordered the MFT thinking we would get the 'CD'???

Did the window stickers also get changed to reflect a higher destination charge?
edit: I'll start a new destination charge window sticker thread....I think maybe.

My salesman advised that his Ford rep. told him that my MFT would include a CD player, which prompted a heated discussion . . . .

TBD
