I was told the same thing. The Ford auxiliary port has a standpipe built in with 3x the diameter needed/recommended for use with the Espar heater. Supposedly thats the issue that'll keep the pump from delivering the right amount of fuel to start it at elevation.Not sure if it'd be related, but according to the guy at Esparparts.com you need this standpipe when using the B4L on the transit:
