I sit in a lot of walmart parking lots waiting for my next run. I always listen to the radio but when I have it on accessories it shuts down every 15 mnutes. I have to get up or stop what I am doing and turn it back on again. How can I disable this and leave it on accessories as long as I want? It's a 2015.

I tapped a 24/7 hot line into the radio fuse, the accessory ports, and (for mine) the sync fuse. Works well.

Airedrifter,

Can you elaborate and give us some more detail to your solution? May be some parts used.

Thanks.

First, when the key is out of the ignition, you can still turn on the radio and CD player by pressing the volume button one. Mine runs for 1 hour or so and then turns off. I've never had a vehicle that would do that.

What I did was tap the hot pole of my battery and then put an input splice on the supply side of the fuse (the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side).

For mine, I actually put a 20 amp fuse on the main tap and then still tapped in up circuit of the three fuses.

There's some photos somewhere...

When I have my ignition switch set to accessory my radio will stay on indefinitely. That also includes the sync and Bluetooth functions.

I'm 99% positive that I did not change any of the factory settings in the menu section to get that to work like that, I'm pretty sure that's the way it came from the factory.

I'll often have the radio on just like that for five or six hours at a time with no problems.

I forgot to add that I have the heavy duty alternator and dual batteries. Maybe Ford programs the system different with the single battery setup?

There are a lot of stereo/sync/myfordtouch combinations. I would not be surprised if the key-on or use-without-key behavior varies among them.

Time to vent, guess I'm getting old. I thought it was bad enough that you needed a computer degree to work on a vehicle. Looks like your needing a computer degree just to operate it! I miss the old days, radio on radio off, interior lights on, lights off. lol
