Guys,

I need better traction, for gravel hills. Winter will have dedicated winter studded tires, so this is just for summer months with loses gravel and sand.

I would like to just change the rear tires, like people used to do on rwd vehicles for the last 100 years..

If I put on 245/70/R16 Duratracs, I am sure they would fit. But they would be slightly different rpm than the front tires. Does the stability control get wonky over this?

I really don't want to replace the front tires, I like smoother front tires. And I can use my removed rear Hancooks for replacement fronts when the first set wears out.

If you have an option for an exact size 235/65/R16 in something aggressive with good deep lugs please let me know.

If it is load E I am happy, I don't load my vehicles up to he extent of some others. Most of the time I will be driving around with 500 lbs in it. I bought this vehicle for length, to fit window covering boxes in it, since this is an install vehicle for blinds.

I did my last four years in a F150 with a 6.5 foot box, it worked, but it certainly got old not having the length. But i had 4x4. I surprised how easily I spun out on gravel slops with this van, although I did find my tire pressure just too damm high.

I was hoping someone would have done what I was thinking of doing with different rear tires.

I may have to go with 225/75/R16 to find the tire with the right grip. Until then I'm going to have to lower the air pressure in the rear tires. At what point does the low pressure monitor kick in?

Like I said I don't carry that much wight.

I am thinking I want to do the same thing. When I put Duratrax on my f150 4x4 supercab I did notice a little "float" that I soon got used to, but the tires wear so well and are really quiet for an aggressive tire. They are like one inch taller and my concern would be the ABS not working correctly because of the tire size difference. Maybe all four corners wouldn't be so bad.
