Pretty crazy forum! Guys there are talking about other's posting in their name, and then I come across a Sprinter 4 cyl post that quotes my comments made in this forum and is submitted by someone calling themselves LB!
Someone is pretending to be me!
I'm flattered.

Yeah well the guy that posted that copied from the rules at the bottom is LB.
Maybe he is real and it's just coincidence that he quoted me and linked to the thread.
I posted there as Longboard and asked if he was real, nobody responded yet, but LB has been posting since. Maybe he is a regular there and just has been reading this forum and thought it a good thread to link to.
Either way, nothing new in that long thread over there, they are all just speculating, as was the author of the original article.

"The all-new inline-five-cylinder PowerStroke turbo-diesel coming later for the Transit van does not have any official fuel economy estimates yet, but you can expect them to play in the same ballpark as its most direct competitor, the Ram ProMaster 3.0-liter I-4 EcoDiesel which we've heard is around 18/26 mpg city/highway."

Pure speculation, nothing new

Estimated is from testing, and the results are still just that.....estimates.
In this article the guy takes hearsay from the few rare diesel Promaster drivers and then guesses that the Transit will be the same.
Estimates are worth using as general comparison numbers, but this Transit diesel guess holds very little value in my opinion.

After reading it, and since my cup is usually 1/2 full and I've always exceeded EPA estimated MPG of my vehicles with my normal driving habits, I'm confident in those numbers. That puts the Transit on equal footing with the PM in my decision between them. The Transit will cost a little more but nowhere near the Sprinter.

11,214 miles, 558.5 gals, 85 days => 20.08 MPG overall

T350HD XL, 15 pax wagon, HR, EL, DRW, 3.2L, 3.73 LS Rear Axle, 195/75R16C Hankook Dynapro HT RH12 tires, 10,360# GVWR:
