The door prop has 3 positions for the the door. The most inner one will not allow someone to reach in to open the door if it is locked.

This is awesome, Hein. Thanks! I could really use a prop for the side slider so I can have it halfway open. I'm currently using a spring-clamp for that. If you make it, I will buy one!

that product is already available: http://www.traipsingabout.com/2014/04/28/sprinter-door-stop-for-sliding-door/
and: http://www.nortonfab.com/?product=sprinter-van-door-stop

it's also pretty easy to make one yourself. i did, and it worked well until the double-sided tape i used gave up. i'll be making another one, for sure. very handy. here's mine: http://projects.foxharp.net/the_van/#intermediate-slider-doorstop-6212016

I made less aggressive one for our Sprinter out of some 3mm ABS plastic. It works great and attached with some thin VHB. It's been on there for a 4 years. I didn't like the aluminum machined one because the entry ramp isn't smooth (wheel bumps up on it) and the dip is too large/deep which causes a lot of stress on the arm/mechanism when it rolls over the ramp.

Our battery boxes are done (PM me to get one) so I should be able to get started on the electrical install soon. I am planning on (2) group 27 FullRiver AGMs with a Ctek alt/solar charger. I am considering their large shore power charger with a separate 300 watt Morningstar inverter rather than an inverter charger.. Battery monitor will be the Victron BMV-700 with bluetooth dongle.

Below is a photo of unpainted box next to approximate position under the van:

happen to have a picture? since i lost the one i made, i'd be interested in seeing your better design. i agree that the bumpety-bump is kind of extreme on the design i linked to.

I'll take and post a photo later. Still sort of dark and rainy outside atm. I spoke with Dakota about machining a plastic version for him and he was receptive to that. They have had some minor trouble with adhesives holding on the metal ones. We haven't experienced that.

We received a letter from Ford asking us to bring in the van to replace the electronic throttle body under customer satisfaction program 16B33.

We purchased our van used from a private party so can anyone in the Portland, Oregon area recommend a dealer with a decent service department?

Thanks,
Hein

okay, thanks. so it's not appreciably different than his, other than subtle contour changes, perhaps. i did mine out of some nylon i had in the junk box, cut on the bandsaw, and stuck it on with some old double-sided tape, also from the junk box. it lasted several months. might have been been partly because it wasn't as smooth as it could have been, but also might have been from tape failure. full description here: http://projects.foxharp.net/the_van/slider_stop2.jpg.html

We haven't contacted a dealer yet. Van is running great and earning its keep hauling our latest batch of battery boxes:

Below. A couple more photos showing placement on the 130WB.
This battery box also fits the 148WB.

From rear looking forward below left side of vehicle:

Below. Looking at left side. The bottom of the battery
box is slightly higher than the bottom of the fuel tank.

We are planning on 2 FullRiver DC220-6 maintenance free AGM batteries with
a Ctek 100A off grid kit and their CTX2500 shore charger/maintainer.

Are the 130 WB battery trays now available? I could not find a listing on your Ebay page. Link would be appreciated.

battery tray mounting locations

They will be listed shortly. You can call Kim to order one. 54l 49O 4Z9Z
We're have a 148" WB and are interested in buying one of the 2 battery trays. Since we're also trying to decide on the location for propane and water tanks under the van, I'd like to compare the mounting locations of the 2 different trays to see which will fit best with our other components. I believe this posting:http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/306169-post8.html shows the mounting location of the first tray very well and this http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/373794-post33.html does a great job of showing where it goes in relation to the frame rails. Would you mind posting similar diagrams for the new tray on a 148"?

How about a diagram of the new tray (the one that works on the 130WB) on the 148 WB van? Something like the diagram you posted quite awhile ago, for the other tray, showing its position on the underside of the van: http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/306169-post8.html . That's post #8 in the "Battery Tray" thread.
