Any reason why the pads need to be inbetween the rear shock mount and wheel when using a normal lift in the rear under the axle ? Vs just adjacent to the inside of the shock mount on the axle.

The bending moment on the axle should be the same either way, and still less than the bending moment from the hubs/wheel itself.

When I got new tires put on their jack pads wouldn’t fit inbetween the wheel and shock mount, so we went inside the shock mount.
