Picked up our van! Ordered the cng prep package. I was under the impression from pictures I've seen that there would be a larger fuel door with the regular port to put gas in and a second blue one for cng. There's just a regular size fuel door and one spot for gas. The window sticker shows the cng package. Was it really installed?

My limited understanding is that the package you got only preps the engine to burn CNG/LPG, and does not include the CNG/LPG tank, piping to the engine and so forth. I could be wrong.

All additional equipment is to be supplied by your after-market CNG installer.

Perhaps you should check with the dealer.

PS the brochure on p. 22 calls Option 98C the "CNG/LPG Gaseous Engine Prep Package."

PS2 -- for instance see here:

PS3 -- See this article and quote below:

http://www.torquenews.com/397/ford-goes-all-cnglpg-vehicles

Quote from article:

"Each Ford engine that is prepped for CNG/LPG conversion is equipped with hardened valves and valve seats, and Super Duty trucks are equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 featuring a unique bi-fuel intake manifold to accommodate the fuels.

"CNG/LPG factory engine prep costs only $325 before fuel tanks for which the customer chooses the supplier, Additional fuel lines and unique fuel injectors are also up to the fleet manager. The modifications usually run about $9,500 to $12,500, based on tank capacity."

Thanks for all the links. I knew we would have to do the hoses/tanks ourselves. I just remember seeing pictures somewhere of a larger fuel door with two ports. Maybe they somehow make the door larger when they fit the hoses and everything?

Look at the photos at the after-market mfg. link I provided. One ["Receptacle" tab] shows a second fuel fill just below the gasoline one, and on my wagon there is indeed a small trim piece which could be removed for this purpose.

Probably confusing it with a photo of the diesel's DEF filler tube and door.

I don't think so, as the photo is under the "Receptacle" tab on the site for the CNG after-market outfitter Altech-Eco at the link provided. When I blow up (as much as I can on my screen) the photo of the second fill spot, it seems to have a blue warning label, at the bottom of which looks like a warning about 3,000 PSI. Presumably CNG or LGP?

Also note that even in the URL is a reference to the 3.7L engine, not the diesel. Please look at the photo. Does the diesel have this spout and blue warning label? If so, Altech-Eco messed up IMO.

PS -- Also at the top of the blue label looks like the beginning of "CNG" on the top left.
