Hi, I just bought a Transit Crew AWD and now waiting in limbo for insurance. The vehicle is already to go, I just need the insurance. The vehicle does not exist in their data base so I have to wait for an exception and pricing. I found other insurance companies online, they don't have the vehicle in their data base either. This may take awhile. They have to create an exception because it is not commercial and send it to pricing.

Any Canadians here in Ontario have a Transit Crew? What insurance company are you using?

Hey MysteryMachine,

I'm in New Brunswick and I'm currently waiting for my Transit Crew to arrive also. Last I checked it was at the regional distribution center awaiting delivery to the dealership in Montreal Quebec.

I've had my VIN # for almost a month and 2 weeks ago I called my current insurance company which is currently Pembridge Insurance Company because I had also heard that some insurance company wouldn't insure Transits so I figured I'd inquire with my insurance. It took about a week for my Broker to hear back from them, but in the end Pembridge came back saying that they wouldn't insure a Crew Van under my current policy since it was considered a commercial vehicle. The only Transit they would insure was a Transit Connect.

So I called Desjardins Insurance which used to be Statefarm insurance, and there was no problem getting insurance through them. I've also heard that the Cooperators will insure them also.I'm not sure if either of those companies are available to Ontario residents.

Thank You. They are both available here in Ontario. Cooperators didn’t have them in their database so I am waiting to hear from them as well. I will call Desjardin.
Apparently I may become the first AWD Midroof Crew in Ontario. Lol.
I appreciate the suggestion.
Thank You

I'm patiently waiting for mine to arrive. My dealer here in New Brunswick is doing a dealer trade with the dealer in Montreal for this one. He spoke to them on Tuesday and they thought it may have arrived at the dealership but they said they would confirm today. Once it arrives, they will be shipping it to New Brunswick. I'm hoping that I'll have it by the middle of next week.

Another one of my buddy is also patiently waiting for his Mid-Roof AWD, but his is about 2-3 weeks behind mine. We will both be converting them into camper vans with an inside garage to carry our mountain bikes.
