I ordered a new Transit on January 6th this year. The van has been built and shows sitting in KC since April 15th. Dealer pulled status on my van today and it clearly shows no updates since the day it was built. Others that ordered after me have received their vans. I'm thinking this van has been either stolen off Fords lot, wrecked or sent to the wrong customer. Any help would be appreciated. Told my dealer today, if he couldn't locate my van and provide a delivery date and a picture that the van exists, I'm going to cancel my order next Saturday and go find something else. It's been almost 5 weeks since production date, release date and they still know nothing. I want to post the dealer supplied status report, but I don't know how to post a picture here. The vin is 1FTSW3XG4FKA81237. Hoping someone here knows someone at Ford that can help. First ever new Ford. So far nothing but problems!! If I cancel, I won't be looking for another Ford!!!

Oh yea, the dealer is Ewald Venus Ford in Cudahy, WI 53110.
Welcome to the forum! Although sorry it is under these circumstances.

The dealer's daily Status Report is a basic report with one line item for your Transit. Have you asked the dealer to print the following report from its Oasis computer system for your VIN alone: "Track a Vehicle -- Full History" report? This report should have multiple line items for your Transit only, and the dealer can print it out for you AND email it to you as an attachment.

When you get this attachment in an email, we can guide you through the steps for posting it here. For now if you click on User CP at the top right, you can probably find the FAQ section about Posting and Attaching images.

First thing tomorrow, please email the dealer asking for a current (dated tomorrow) Full History report from its Oasis computer system for your VIN.

Good luck!

PS what size and length is your Transit? The taller vehicles require special rail cars and trucks.

You need to call Ford Customer Service at 800 392-3673. Give them your VIN and tell them you want a update on the delivery of your vehicle. Tell them your dealer has not been able to locate your Transit. They will put a priority on it.

Being a High Roof Transit, it would have to go in a special height rail car for delivery to your regional distribution center and then to your dealer. The holdup may be more of the railroad having the specific rail car coming to your area for delivery.

At this point, the reports won't matter. You have to go up the ladder to Ford to get some action. Unless the dealer calls Ford on their own and helps you out, you have to make that call!

I've got the oasis as of today. Saved it as a picture. Not sure how to post a picture from my IPhone. Called Ford customer service. Total waste of time. They gave me the same info as the dealer. Released April 15th, awaiting shipment. No further updates on oasis as of today.

Beg to differ CrewVanMan, Bill should call Ford AND ask his dealer for the report, in part because he may actually end up being able to post the report here, and also to get a further read on the dealer's good faith IMO. This would not be the first time that a Full History report shows a problem in Transit, like when my rail car broke down and spent two weeks in Ohio.

PS Edit -- if Bill's Full History report is just that, is dated recently, and has no line items after KC on 4/15, there is a problem IMO. At least one other poster here said his Transit was damaged beyond repair, and sold for scrap, but the dealer did not know about it right away.

Is your Oasis report entitled Track a Vehicle Full History for your VIN? And there are no line items after Kansas City?

I will go to my computer about how to post attachments. Stand by.

Edit -- PS -- Upon re-reading your post, I am sorry but I am not able to help with posting from the iPhone. I work from my laptop only for this. Maybe someone else can help. Here is a link to the FAQ about attachments:

Thanks Bill for posting the attachment. Well done!

I don't know what to say. Hopefully CrewVanMan will have some suggestions. Other buyers here have had better luck with Ford Customer Service so my only suggestion is to ask to speak to a supervisor each time you hit a dead end with a representative.

PS -- Edit -- The only question I have is whether you got the Full History report online on your own, or did the dealer give/send it to you? I am not trying to be argumentative, but rarely have I seen a dealer respond so quickly on a holiday (5/25 date stamp at the bottom of your report -- this looks like a print footer which your computer applied). Thanks

Maybe this is better to read.

I sent your PM information to a Ford Distribution Group to see if they can get your Transit pulled and delivered via auto convoy instead of rail car/convoy. When they call you, let them know you are using for business purposes and have scheduled installation on some specialized equipment.

Another possibility is that a trucking company picked it up, and for some reason this is not in the Full History report. Longboard (Detroit area) and other users (incl. WI I believe) have had their Transits come straight from KC on a truck. You might have to contact various companies to research this using your VIN. I will look up old posts which might help, and will edit this post over the next hour or so as I find them.

Posts regarding trucking to the north of KC:

Longboard re: Wheeler Transport -- http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/87417-post13.html

Traditional Logistics re MN -- http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/125665-post44.html

EDIT -- PS Bill, looks like you and CrewVanMan are in communication via PM, so I will wait on further research . . .

Billg27,

I feel your pain. Took 20 days after it was built to be loaded on a rail car, then 12 more to be delivered to dealer. Keep after your dealer for the Full History reports, daily. Once it starts to move via the rails, the way points along the track will be mentioned as it passes them.
Hope you receive it soon.

Update: Thanks to one of our forum members for all their help in locating my missing Transit. Got a call Thursday from the regional rep, he stated that Waldo would be loaded on a train Thursday. So far dealer Oasis system showing no updates. I'm going to be getting a bit louder and madder soon. So far, I've been very understanding and patient. But I'm about ready to walk away from the unit and order a GM cab and have a 14' Unicell body installed. Ordered the Ford so I'd only have one manufacturer to deal with. But it's becoming clear that Ford just doesn't care about consumers. They only care about their fleet accounts! (Which makes no sense, they pay less then a consumer).

Thankfully none of my $6K of accessories sitting in my garage are vehicle specific. I've got roof top AC unit, Espar heater, battery bank, inverters, 2800 watt Onan generator, roof vent, entertainment system, folding wall bed, mini fridge, microwave plus boxes of smaller items. But thankfully nothing that's Ford Transit specific yet.

Groan! Was there any explanation for the delay in loading your Transit?

No explanation! I'm just getting really frustrated with Ford. Didn't mind waiting for the build, didn't even mind the first 30 days of waiting after production. But friends that ordered after I did are driving them and laughing at me about "Where's Waldo". Had to cancel appointments that were made for 4 weeks after production. Thought that was a safe time frame. Boy was I wrong! I guessing you can sense my building frustration. Not even sure if I can even enjoy this truck after all this! Called the National Sales Rep. Left a message, no call back! ??

Another update today. It appears that my Transit has been placed on a Norfolk Southern Corp railcar. That was on Friday evening. Going to Chicago yard. Dealer says it may possibly arrive middle of next week. I'm not holding my breath! Drove through the dealers lot today, has 8-10 more new Transits in stock now since my last drive through last Saturday. Dealer checked dates, some of them were shipped within 48 hours after production!!! WTH happened to mine? All were ordered and built after mine! I'm not impressed with Ford's customer service! Not sure if I'm going to take delivery now. Way too many missed opportunitys, scheduled appointments missed and money lost because of these delays! Not at all what was expected from Ford. Dealer knew when the order was placed that I absolutely needed this van by the end of April, my old van was sold and to be delivered then to the new owner.
