Was camping out in my van last night and I got to thinking about things I could do to improve the camping experience of the van.
Then it hit me like the lightning bolt that shattered a tree at the campground I was at last week when that huge weather system came out of the Gulf Coast.
Wouldn't it be great to not just replace the weather stripping, but upgrade it?
I got this mental image of several rows of high profile weather stripping in parallel.
Absolutely insuring no water, wind or cold could sneak in.
I just cannot get that idea out of my head now.
Like many others I've had some problems with wind noise on the drivers side. Above about 55 or so it kicks in and by 70 it's annoying.
Also like others I'm getting some leaking in the rear doors and on the side cargo door.

Tried googling.
Tried searching the forum.
Does anyone make 'Performance weather stripping'?
It must be a thing for boondocker or overlander types.

There are some posts by people that have added an additional layer on the front doors. Maybe in one of these?

I learned in the first trip or two in my new transit that if I drive with the window open in one door it will blow out the weatherstripping out in another door, The only way to get the weatherstripping to pop back in is to open the door and close it when the van is stopped.
If you keep driving around with blown out weatherstripping it will get stretched out and always be blown out.
So now I keep the windows shut and the stripping has not blown out since. Sometimes I like having the window open but I have heat and ac so it is not really necessary.. All my weatherstripping is still in perfect condition five years later.

Oh, And do not keep stepping on the weatherstripping when climbing in and aout of the back door, It will get flattened out and always leak air.
