best is relative and situational therefore in quotes. primarily the power tools are for the van conversation and maintenance so application is light to medium duty thus i don't necessarily require top of the line.
the community is welcome to convince me out of/into an ecosystem:
required/desired battery powered tools
100% drill, preferably brushless
90% jig saw, sadly the main reason would be for cutting holes in the van, but, it would help with cutting panels and the like
90% tire inflator, really 99% but is a battery unit the best idea?
80% handheld vacuum, not a requirement but it might help me keep the van clean?
70% fan, of course i will have a couple of fans in key locations but this will allow me to have one wherever i need it.
50% light, i will have at least two portable light sources so this is not a high priority, maybe if it comes with a set i like.
right now i'm planning on bringing all of these items will me on the road except for the jig saw. my rational for keeping them all in the same ecosystem is to save space/weight, as i would only need one charger and one or two batteries. i'm not sure if it would be possible to get a lighter/smaller set of these items by taking another route? hopefully the drill will find limited use, however, i have a blender adapter for mason jars so it will be nice for that reason.
timing wise, i only really need the drill sooner than later as my old drill is well worn and it's second battery replacement is near death. this allows me shop for sales over time, looking at individual vs kit deals. unfortunately my 15 year old 12v tire pump just bit the dust so replacing that has become a priority.
i'm leaning towards RYOBI though my biggest concern is it's tight association with home depot.
drill, PSBDD02
jig saw, probably just the brushed since cheaper
tire inflator, PCL031 3lbs? 7.5x6x4.25"
handheld vacuum, PCL705: 2.08 lbs, 16x5.2x4.4"
fan, 4" clamp PCF02 or 7.5" desk PCL811/851?
light, PCL667
drill, the 1/2" brushless is 2.1 lbs but they do have a new smaller 3/8" drill but only a brushed version now and even though smaller it is 2.8 lbs. don't know if they will make a smaller brushless unit model or not and i'm not sure how long i can wait.
tire inflator, i'm leaning towards a combo/larger unit since they tend to be more powerful and more durable. they often have a air mattress option. i don't have an air mattress but i'm wondering how well it would work as a low powered blower? most likely i would need to make a specialized adapter to concentrate the air flow into something more useful. the ryobi PCL031 seems to be adequate for blowing and comes with a concentrator adapter. the blower will help with air filters and general cleaning. the PCL031 is a newly released updated version with about twice the power as the old model.
handheld vacuum, this is one of, if not, the smallest vacuums around.
fan, i think the small clamp PCF02 is a better choice since it is smaller/lighter but there is a misting version [PCL851] of the medium desk option PCL811. could be used as back up A/C, though it is best to limit how much moister is being added to the van. i think i will allow sales/deals kick up over the next couple of years blow me one direction or the other.
light, note, the PCL031 tire pump has a small light, it is not much but then i'm not seeing the need for a lot of extra light.
