How likely is it that some armoring company will make armored versions of these for clients, or are there better options?
I'm not sure, are you thinking along the lines of the Brinks Trucks type of armored vehicle?

Perhaps with the HS chassis and cab Transits, but they do seem to have a contract with freightliner. Although its possible to use a cassis and bad transit for a paddywagon i suppose. Here we have Econoline paddy wagons, basically look like ambulances...

What type of clients are out there that need an armored vehicle other than banks? maybe SWAT teams and police departments? Do you have some need of an armored Ford Transit @ted?
I'm sure if you really wanted it you could find someone to do it for you, but a vehicle with armored plating is not going to be cheap.

I think that level of armoring wont be possible as due to power and size there's just MORE they can do.
