ARC weight!?

Until now had never paid attention to ARC weight or what it means.

Accessory Reserved Capacity seems to be the maximum weight that can be added to a van in looking at the definition.

I don't understand why it isn't the difference between curb weight and GVWR or the same as load capacity.

It seems that some of the conversions where people are installing toilets, gas cooking, heaters, refrigerators, and lots of water capacity, not to mention batteries, beds, cabinets, showers and apparatus on the roof etc must well exceed factory specified ARC weights.

What is up with that?
Check this out, it explains it pretty well: https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2012/12_TruckPayload_SB.pdf

I had just read that before posting my question. Question remains. ARC sounds like the limit of how much weight you can add. Why isn't load capacity the limit?
I think I read it as vehicle options when calculating max payload. The amount is really pretty low. My T250 with the 3.5 is about 650 while the lighter 3.7 is higher. It also doesn't include front axle load. I believe that if someone new the specific weight thar they would be carrying the dealer could make a proper payload weight based on the options that the person wanted order. I seriously doubt that ever happens. The only time a calculator comes out a a dealer is when the salesperson is trying to figure out how much money they just made off us.
